Blaise flopped forward onto the bed, pressing the play button. Nearly immediately, a Hugh Grant-narrated overture began to a backdrop of London covered under a layer of snow.
"We're watching Love, Actually," he announced, "and I don't care how inclined you are to make fun of it, you'd better stay quiet when Colin Firth is on the screen."

"I don't talk during movies," Rhys grumbled. He'd never heard of this one, and kind of wondered if it was any good. He didn't watch many movies...

Blaise grinned. "One day, Rhys, I'm going to sit you down and make you watch the entire eight hour BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. Just to warn you ahead of time."
It occurred to him, a bit absurdly, just how much it would piss off either of his parents to bring Rhys or Alex home with him. His father would be horrified to think that his son was dating another male, while his mother would nearly faint at the thought of him being with someone "below his station".
"Hey, Alex, do you have plans for spring break?" he asked.

"You're gonna spend eight hours with me watching Jane Austen just to see if I care. All right." He snorted.
...He was beginning to get the strange, disturbing feeling that Alex might have been right.

"I'm-" He suddenly looked a little frightened. Professor Volkova had paid for his trip. He was going to be sharing a room with Hitoshi there, too. And on the tour, there would be very little opportunity to just avoid him. This was going to be awkward.
He shook his head of his worries and smiled. He'd care about that when it was closer to being important. "I'm going on the Academy field trip to Greece."

"That sounds horrible," Blaise said, wrinkling his nose. "What are you going to be doing, visiting farms and eating baklava?"
He looked over his shoulder at Rhys. Alex might make his parents uncomfortable, but they would loathe Rhys. "What about you?" he asked. "Do you hate me enough to refuse a free trip to Paris and a stay in a mansion?"

Alex shrugged. "Getting massive extra credit for two different classes and, honestly, being out of the country for the first time in my life- well- second if this place counts."
"Probably farms and baklava, though... and museums. Lots of those," he said with little interest. Meeting new people and going new places sounded fun. Looking at ancient dusty helmets and ugly broken vases, far less so.

What. The hell.
Rhys looked at Blaise like he'd grown another head. "I don't know; how much time do I got to decide that?" After a moment's hesitation, he added: "Like a real, for serious mansion. In France."

"A real, for serious mansion," Blaise echoed. "In Paris. Meals cooked by servants, driven around the city in a limo, eat at whatever expensive place you want to eat at. I'll even let you drag me to the Eiffel Tower if you really wanted to, though I don't understand what people think is so special about it."

Rhys looked directly into Blaise's eyes and held them. When he saw no obvious hint of deception, he had no idea how to react.
"Why?"

"Because it's my one good deed for the year. Because otherwise my time home would be extremely boring. Because I like harassing you and I might miss getting to do that over the break. Because my parents would hate you. Because the less time I have to spend alone with my parents, the more I'll actually enjoy my break." Blaise shrugged, ticking off the possible reasons on his fingers.
Blaise sat up and smiled back at his roommate. "Or maybe I'm just trying to seduce you and I think I'd have a better chance if I had you all alone."

Rhys looked at the TV and scratched his arm.
"If that's what you really want... I'll check with my parents."

Blaise grinned. Spring break was definitely going to be interesting.
"It's a shame you can't come, Alex," he said, sliding back on the bed and settling against the pillows. "Maybe you can visit sometime over the summer."

"I wouldn't want you to be lonely," Alex replied. His tone of voice was teasing, but he smiled sincerely at Blaise. He was starting to wonder how much bite there was under that bark.
Blaise was incredibly pretty, and Alex really wanted to get to know him better... Hm.

It was a bit strange how much he was looking forward to having company over spring break, even if it was just Rhys. Even outside of harassing his parents--which he would do as much as possible--it would be nice to have a friend over. And Blaise did like the idea of getting to show off in front of his guest, since most of his other friends were about on par with Blaise's wealth.
"Just a word of advice, though, most of the speaking in my house is in French," he said. "My dad doesn't speak English very well and my mother likes to pretend she can't."

Frog skittered up the wall of the castle at breakneck speed, peering through each window for any sign of the room he was looking for. He needed to find where the white-haired one was... He knew he had gone back to the room of the pretty one who played tennis, but Frog wasn't the best with directions. The whole wall was dorms, and he wasn't even sure which floor it was on.
He pulled himself up to a window ledge, peering in through the glass. Ah-hah! Frog grinned. There they were watching something on the television, it looked like.
The window was, unfortunately, closed. Frog huffed and tapped loudly on the glass.

Rhys considered; he should probably ask Kathy about this, and she could call her dad or something. He was in the middle of trying to decide whether he should watch the movie or pick his book up when he heard a rapping at the window.
He leaned forward, looking past Blaise (and blocking the TV a bit with a shower of curly hair).
"Is that... that is a kid tapping at our window."

Blaise stared at the window blankly. "Huh. It looks like it."
Blaise slid off of the bed and over to the window to open it. He hadn't the slightest idea why there was a student hanging over the ledge of his window, and at any other school that probably would have been pretty peculiar. Hell, it was pretty peculiar even here.
"Is there some reason you're hanging from my window?" he asked, raising his eyebrow at the boy.

"Hi, it's kind of hard to hang onto this ledge, can I come in please, also it's kind of cold?" Frog blurted, each word hardly distinguishable from the next. His hands were starting to slip on the stone.
Frog's eyes widened pleadingly in an expression even the most cold-hearted person couldn't have ignored.

"Ah..." Blaise stared blankly at the other boy, then backed away from the window to give him room to enter. "Sure, I suppose."
This was definitely in the top ten list of strangest things to happen to him at Dunehelden.

"Thanks!" Frog flipped forward through the window and into the floor, then rolled onto his bottom and crossed his legs beneath him.
He glanced around the room at its occupants, smiling serenely. "So," he said, "what movie are we watching?"

Angel happened to be sitting between Rhys and Alex, as of at least five seconds prior.
"Something with cute guys in tuxedos. Fun for the whole family, hm?" He grinned pointily at Rhys.

Rhys stared at the blond kid's acrobatics. "Who the heck-"
He was on his feet in a second and leapt past Blaise onto his bed in one swift bound, body tensed; he very nearly started growling at the boy who had popped up beside him.
"What the fuck is going on?"

The moment Alex heard something about a boy at the window, he thought of Lhachlhass.
The moment he saw Frog, the boy who had been with the boy who'd harassed Hitoshi at the Christmas Waltz, he gave up all hope of the rest of this night making any sense.
At Angel's appearance, he buried his head in his hands.
"It's 'Love, Actually'," he replied, defeated.

Blaise raised an eyebrow at Rhys, backing up against his roommate on the bed and placing one arm in front of him, though he wasn't entirely sure whether he was trying to protect Rhys or hoping the other boy would protect him. The blond boy didn't seem particularly threatening, but the fact that the other boy had quite literally appeared out of thin air was a bit unnerving to him, and given Rhys seemed to be freaking out -- which granted the boy seemed to do every half hour or so -- it might have been a legitimate concern.
"Yeah, fun," Blaise said flatly. "Why the hell are you in my room?"
