Rhys picked up the other racket, nodded silently, and began heading towards the door.
"Uh. Sorry for being a dick, earlier." He tilted his head towards Blaise. "You're not much better, but... sorry."

Blaise shrugged one shoulder blankly. He should probably have been more offended by the statement, but an apology was an apology -- Blaise would take what he could get.
Rhys had had a very strong reaction when he saw Blaise beginning to undress, and Blaise had a theory why; he had a bit of an experiment to perform on the other boy, at least until he found something better to do. He jogged up beside his roommate, staying just inside the other boy's personal space, leaving a hair's breadth between them.
Blaise gave him a smug half-smile and glanced at him from the corner of his eye. "Oh please. I've dealt with far worse than you."

Rhys jumped about a foot to the side and stared blankly at Blaise for a moment. Then, he shook his head and started walking again, opening the door for the other boy when he got there. "Yeah, well, glad to know I didn't mentally scar you or something."
The hell did he do that for? Was that supposed to be friendly, was he trying to be a dick again, or what?

Blaise ran a hand through his hair, combing the stubborn strands back into place. He didn't spend ten minutes styling his hair in the morning so a bit of sweat could negate the entire process.
He pretended not to notice that way Rhys stared. The boy obviously wasn't even used to people standing near him; Blaise would wager that, outside of his family, Rhys didn't have any close friends. If standing near him made him that jumpy, Blaise wondered what would happen if he actually touched Rhys. He'd probably drop dead in shock.
It was probably a cruel thought, but Blaise couldn't help but wonder how much pushing it would take to get his roommate to kiss him. It wasn't so much that he was actually interested in his roommate -- he wasn't terribly attractive, he wasn't popular, and he had yet to show any real redeeming qualities at all -- but there was something intriguing about the idea. It would be a real challenge, and not just because Rhys was so angry and closed off. Quite frankly, if the boy went any deeper into the closet, he'd come out in Narnia.
With his new-found goal in mind, which would probably make his time sharing a room with Rhys much more entertaining, he let his arm brush lightly against the other boy's."What are we eating, then?" he asked, not acknowledging the brief contact. "Cafeteria food?"

Rhys twitched backwards and balled up his free hand into a tight fist. Okay, whatever he was doing, Rhys was not going to let this affect him. It was probably a lot worse after nearly changing, but he suddenly felt like if he had to spend the rest of the semester sharing a room with this guy, he might just go nuts.
He pulled back out of the way, waiting until Blaise had gotten soundly through the door before continuing on. "Whatever's in the kitchen, I guess. I wouldn't call that stuff cafeteria food." He felt like a nice thick steak right now, but he knew pasta or rice would help more. Maybe they could get some chicken cacciatore or something...

Blaise smirked. Harassing his roommate was almost as fun a sport as tennis, particularly when he was mere inches from Rhys. He could smell the slightest fluctuation in his emotions, from embarrassment to frustration to things that he couldn't quite name. It was strangely satisfying to be able to hold that sort of sway over people.
"Is all the cooking really done by that one strange man?" he asked, glancing back the other boy. "Surely there has to be someone else. There have to be hundreds of people here. There's no way he could do all that himself."

Rhys shook his head. "All him. Unless it's him and hundreds of invisible people who don't take up space. I saw him pull a cake out of the back of his head once, though, so I guess that's how he does it."
He looked over Blaise once more, then shook his head like a spider had fallen on it and looked away.

Blaise's faltered for a step. One eyebrow shot up his forehead, and for a moment, he wasn't certain whether the other boy was kidding or not. He shook himself slightly and forced himself forward. Accepting magic was easy enough, but adapting to magic being an active part of his life would be a completely different matter. "Magic," he murmured. "Of course."
He shook his head slightly. Blaise would be happy when he finally found his way to the kitchen. He hadn't had a Coke in days.
