Chris worked quietly, except those times when she paused to think, during which she drummed little bursts of music out on the tabletop with her pencil. Eventually, she was able to finish an outline, and glanced over at Yuki.
"The History of the Violin?" Her eyebrows shot up.

Yuki nodded. He was almost done reading the book, again. He'd lost track of how many times he'd read the book since he first found it his freshman year. He removed his eyes from the book to glance at her completed outline. "Do you want me to look it over?" he offered quietly.

Chris blinked, tipped her head quizzically to one side, and then nodded.
"Yes, please," she said, sliding the paper towards him. She indicated the book with another nod. "Do you... play?"

Yuki took the paper from her carefully and began to read. As he skimmed the paper he answered, "Yeh, I've been playing since I could pick one up. Why?"

Chris rested her chin on her fists and watched Yuki's wrists. So he was a musician?
Chris felt a new smile tugging at her features. Yuki had pretty wrists. It was an odd thing to notice, she knew, but then again she had affinities for odd things-- wrists, jawlines, lips that had a natural smirk to them.
"Just curious," she said after a few minutes.

Yuki smirked a little, he was enjoying reading this. She had really understood what he had said and put it into her own words. "Very good," he said a few minutes later, handing her back her outline, "You should get a good grade."
Yuki had enjoyed this even if it had been just sitting there. "Is there anything else that you need me to help you with?" he asked.

Chris hee'd and beamed at him. "Thanks to you," she retorted brightly. She took the paper back and grabbed her pencil again. Time to actually write the paper. Just one more essay, Chris.
She chewed at bit on her eraser and looked sideways at him when he offered to help her with anything else. "I think I got it," she said. Then, jokingly, "But if you hear anything breaking or the crackling of flames it means I got stuck and killed my textbook with a Molotov cocktail." Then she smirked and revised, "No wait, Mrs. Aetai would kill me if I did that in here. If I suddenly leave before I finish, it means I'm dragging the text down to the kitchens, putting it into a blender, and making a milkshake from its tattered remains, which I will drink victoriously, knowing that my foe has been vanquished."

Yuki's grey eyes widened slightly at the mention of milkshakes. "Would that be a strawberry milkshake?" he asked with peaked interest.

Chris arched an eyebrow and smirked. "Oh, of course. Strawberry milkshakes are the only milkshakes worthy of the delicious tag. With mint, and chocolate, and a little bit of lemon."

If Yuki had the ability to show the fan boy emotion he probably would have. Instead he arched an eyebrow and smirked. "That sounds amazing," he spoke softly, "I want one now."
He then took a deep breath of the air around him . . . STRAWBERRIES??!!! Yuki struggled to stay in his chair and failed with a small expression of shock on his ice-like features.

Chris gasped at Yuki's fall and leaned forward to look over the side of his chair, her hair tumbling over her shoulders as she looked down at the boy with a mild expression of concern.
"What the-- Are you okay?"

As Chris leaned over a waft of the strawberry sent came cascading down onto Yuki. "Y-yeah," he said attempting to right himself, "strawberries?" he asked no one in particular.

Chris reached out to help him up, tucking her hair behind her ear with her free hand.
"Straw....be--" well, they had been talking about milkshakes a moment before. Chris was confused until a tendril of her hair swept across her face, and she caught a whiff of the fruit.
"Oh. Yeah." She shrugged and retreated to her own seat. "Sorry-- that's my shampoo. Strawberries and cream. I didn't think the sent was very strong." No one had complained about it, at least. Either she had just gotten used to the aroma, or Yuki had a pretty decent sense of smell.

Yuki managed to get back into his seat and shook his bangs back into place. "The smell just took me off guard," he said smoothing his bangs in his face to hide his flush from embarrassment. "It's nice though," he added his voice like a whisper.

Chris lifted her eyebrows, amused.
"Thanks," she said, then turned back to her work. "I think... ah... that I should get back to work."

Yuki stiffened. "Ah, yes, do," Yuki went back to reading his book, "I didn't mean to distract you." His face was still red, so he decided to hide it with the book. Hopefully she hadn't noticed.

Chris had already gone back to scribbling out her first draft of the essay. By chance, she glanced sideways at Yuki and, seeing his flushed face but not registering what had caused it, reached out to touch his forehead.
"Are you feeling okay? Maybe you hit your head when you fell. You might need to visit Dr. Str--"

Yuki quickly blocked her hand with the book he was holding. "You should umm, go back to work and," he muttered. Why was he sooooo flustered??!! "Did you know that the violin started out with only three stings?" he added in a very dignified tone.

Chris furrowed her brow for a moment, confused, then gave a mild snort of laughter. She picked up her pencil again, with every intention to go back to work, but just couldn't help herself.
"Yes. Did you know," she teased, "that when the term milkshake was first used in print in 1885, milkshakes were an alcoholic drink."

"Yes, I did," Yuki replied peering at her from over the top of the book. "And as much as I would love to continue with our Jeopardy like facts, you have an essay to wright."

Chris quirked her lips to one side. She shrugged and went back to her paper, though she gave the boy's chair an indignant nudge with her knee.
