Angel stepped back and looked at Rivienne for a moment, then shrugged and walked in.
Or he could eat and then sneak around. He liked that idea.

The walk to the kitchen was relatively short, since the kitchen was on the ground floor, though even such a short walk was plenty of time to adjust to the castle. The corridors were tall and narrow, each nearly identical to the last. The way to the kitchen followed the innermost corridor, leaving the halls illuminated only by lanterns which, to the casual observer, appeared to be lit with fire--but to those who looked closely, it was clear that there was no flame, but rather glowing orbs of light. Even with the lanterns, the corridors were riddled with dark corners and shadows, places were dark things could easily lurk.
The stone walls, when not bare, seemed to be decorated quite eclectically, as though several different people had collaborated in decorating without speaking to one another first. Everything from old tapestries and suits of armor to pieces of modern art could be found.
The kitchen, when at last the three reached it, was a cozy little nook with enough sitting room for a large family, a large pantry, an oven, and a refrigerator. It was far homier than the castle thus far, colored warmly, with a fireplace in the corner, though it was not lit.
Rivienne stepped aside, allowing Angel to enter the room, and glanced back at him. "You and your pet should be able to find plenty to eat here," she said.

Even walking normally, Angel occasionally seemed to fade into the shadows as he walked down the halls, as if his absence from them were a strange exception to a rule written into the reality of the place; the slight taint of necromancy that was woven into the walls, particularly after Mortale's reappearance, seemed to fawn over him as if alive to those with the proper senses. In what could be seen in the darkness, his face, in the half-light of the faerie lands outside a sullen scowl, was removed like a mask and replaced with a horrible gargoyle-like expression, evoking silent slaughter.
It was really kind of overdramatic, which only made Angel more pissed.
"Heh. Thanks," Angel mumbled, and poked Frog. "You can change back now, she's probably not gonna care."

The lemur chirped an incomprehensible reply to Angel, then leaped down from Angel's shoulder and onto the ground. Spots of glowing silver formed at the tips of his toes and spiraled out, forming vine-like patterns along his skin. As the patterns traveled up his body, the creature began to shift and change: the body became broader and longer, the skin smoothed, the fur on the creature's head grew into a mess of overlong wavy blond hair... but the eyes retained the same wide, dark, reptilian gaze.
The silver glowed faded as quickly as it came. In its wake, a young man stood up to his full height and stretched out his arms over his head, smiling at the woman. She really did seem like a nice person, and it was only polite to give her a proper introduction.
"Hello!" he announced, stretching out his hand to her. "It's nice to meet you. I'm--" he began, but he was not given the chance to finish.

Rivienne watched wide-eyed at the sight before her. She had seen many transformations, from werewolves and mages alike, but never had she seen anything quite so... flashy.
"I know who you are," she interrupted. She glanced between the two young men. "You're Frog."
It was not terribly surprising, really. It was only very peculiar that these two, who were so very similar but not quite the same as two students, had wandered so casually onto the castle grounds.
Perhaps, she thought... Perhaps it would not be wise to bring this to the headmaster's attention immediately. She was likely very busy, and would not react well to this... Perhaps she could speak to Smoke and Michael about this.
"Help yourself to the food. When you've finished, I'll show you to a room."

Angel raised an eyebrow. "Huh. Do you know Lily and Taimyo too?"
He looked around for something to make rice with. He wasn't the best cook, but rice was one step up from microwaving leftovers, and he'd had to make his own dinner often enough.
