"Hmmm." He smiled. "That sounds like a wonderful idea, then. If nothing else, if we can get up there and there's nothing there, we can have our own little place."

"That would be nice." Hitoshi scraped the last of the custard off of the sides of his bowl. He couldn't help but feel that there was something worth finding in the upper levels, with as much effort as she had put into keeping students away from it.
Hitoshi scooped the the final bite of his dessert into his mouth, then tossed the bowl and spoon into the sink. He picked up the locket, which was still on the counter, and slipped it around his neck and beneath his shirt. He already had an idea what he was going to put in the locket.
"Do you want to explore the upper levels, or would you rather save that for another day and head to the tower?"

Alex grabbed a couple of his remaining strawberries and dropped them into his bowl, eating them along with the last few bites of his dessert.
"I don't see why not do it tonight. I'd love to, and it's a weekend technically, so..."

Hitoshi wrapped his arms around Alex's shoulders from behind, nuzzling into the side of his neck. He was quiet for a moment. "It's been almost six months now, hasn't it?"
It seemed as though that picnic in the courtyard had been only a few days ago... And yet, somehow, it seemed he'd know Alex for much, much longer. But then, he'd felt like he knew Alex since the moment he saw him.

Alex leaned back into Hitoshi and hugged his arms.
"Mmh." He counted back. "Only six? I feel like I've been here forever. Seven or eight months ago, I didn't know you? Mmh."
He stood up, pulled himself away, and put his bowl in the sink, then turned back around and squeezed Hitoshi close.
"Happy Valentine's," he said softly.

Hitoshi leaned into Alex, his arms wrapped around the other boy's neck. "Happy Valentine's Day," he replied quietly.
He pulled back slightly and looked up at Alex -- since when did he need to look up at him? "I think you've gotten a little taller."

Alex blinked and looked down at Hitoshi.
"Good lord," he replied. "No wonder my shirts aren't tucking in right. I thought I'd just gained weight from all the sugar."

Hitoshi squeezed Alex around the waist, shifting him a bit closer. He smirked. "Mm... No, it doesn't feel like you've gained weight." Hitoshi nuzzled against Alex's neck, and very briefly he debated just dragging Alex back to their dorm instead.
He pulled back a bit, slipping his hands from Alex's waist to the other boy's hands. "You'd better grab what you want of the bread. It should keep without any trouble at room temperature, and if you leave it in here you'll never see it again. When you're done with that, we can head upstairs."

"Mmf." Alex kissed Hitoshi on the cheek and squeezed his hands. "All right."
He went over to the cupboard and searched around for one of the large freezer bags and dumped the rest of the bread into it. He took Hitoshi's hand again, smiling, a slight blush coloring his cheeks.
"Lead the way."
