The big, shining black bus sat in the courtyard, resting over one of the more elaborate flowerbeds on the grounds, dirt and flowers sprayed around it. Under most circumstances, seeing such utter destruction to her property would fill her with rage, and she would punish the first soul unfortunate enough to cross her path... Normally. But not today.
Veronique stared in wonder at the sleek machine in front of her, looking very much like a child in a candy store. She wondered exactly how fast it could go...
The headmaster dashed up into the bus and took the driver's seat, feeling the smooth leather of the steering wheel beneath her hands. The seat was astonishingly comfortable, and the speedometer... Oh, the speedometer went up to one hundred and eighty miles per hour. This was going to be fun.
Veronique cackled to herself. It had been far, far too long since she had a chance to drive anything this impressive.
She slammed her hand repeatedly against the horn. There were still fifteen minutes before they were scheduled to leave, but she wanted to test drive this thing, damn it!

Ellie, standing by the door of the bus, winced at the sudden honking.
"Veronique," she called, grinning. "Settle down. We're putting the bags in the storage compartments."

Jaymie swaggered slowly up to the bus, carrying his bags (mostly clothing) and some of Hitomi's (same), obviously not quite lucid yet. He had chosen to wear an incredibly loud gold-and-red shirt covered in glitter and ridiculous sunglasses, and both a camera and an iPod were strung around his neck.
"Whooo, Spring Break!" He waved at the bus.

Hitomi yawned and stretched her arms above her head, trailing a few steps behind Jaymie. She was not exactly a morning person, but she was plenty accustomed to waking up at the crack of dawn for family outings. She was used to far worse. Her aunt had once made them wake up at four in the morning to go hiking.
Hitomi had her backpack slung over one shoulder--Jaymie had insisted on carrying her suitcase--and hot-pink oversized headphones around her neck, which were connected to an mp3 player covered in bright yellow flowers. Last year's fieldtrip had been the University trip, which meant that this was the first year Hitomi would be able to attend the trip. And it was to Greece, which was one of the most beautiful and historic countries in the world. She couldn't wait.
The headmistress driving them, of course, was a different matter entirely. She had heard about her driving style, and if she was somehow actually worse than her uncle, Hitomi had a feeling they wouldn't be surviving the weekend.

"Well do it faster!" Veronique snapped. She clenched her teeth. They just didn't understand. She needed to drive! She needed to feel the open road!
Veronique flipped though the CDs she'd brought along with her. Justin Bieber...no. Ke$ha...definitely not. Glee soundtrack? Closer, but not right. Madonna, Cher... Ah, there was something. Veronique grabbed a Lady Gaga CD and cranked "Poker Face" as loud as the radio would go.

Jaymie paused for a moment, then cheered. He dashed over to the bus with renewed vigor and tossed the bags in as soon as Ellie and company gave him room, singing along.

Kemekin blinked groggily as he trudged along the side of the bus, having been practically dragged outside by Jaebi who, like Hitomi, wore a pair of headphones around his neck. The two of them loaded their bags into storage and approached the head of the vehicle.
Kemekin was only half-awake, but this was quickly remedied by the music that suddenly blasted from the bus. Oh my g-- really? It was far too early in the morning for him to have irritating pop music stuck in his head.
"Verooooo!" he said as he got to the door and stepped aboard, yelling to be heard over the music, "Making our ears bleed isn't going to get us to move any faster! I swear, if this gets stuck in my head I'm going to stage a coup!"
Nope, too late. The tagline of the song was already beating in his head. Kemekin sighed and ran both hands through his already tousled hair, wondering how much trouble he would be in if he bribed his aunt to get into another intercom-battle with the Headmistress.
Granted, there were no intercoms on the bus aside from the one by the driver's seat, but he was sure he could find a megaphone somewhere...

Veronique scowled at Kemekin in the rear view mirror, and she tore her oversized sunglasses off of her face.
"If you think your taste in music is so superior to mine, Mr. Evans-Barros, then by all means, change the CD," she said acerbically, shoving the book of CDs in his general direction. "I have no intention of listening to your incessant complaining during the entire trip."

Post by Hitoshi Gilespi on Jun 8, 2010 9:22:29 GMT -5
Hitoshi liked the early morning, especially in the spring. The cool crisp air, the soft dewy grass, the look of sky before the sun had completely risen. Hitoshi did not, however, enjoy the sound of atrocious pop music being blared at him from the speakers of a bus. Rudeth's music on trips might have been horrible, but he would take an entire day of him singing "Oh, the farmer and the cowman should be friends" before even a few minutes of listening to this lyrical abomination.
Hitoshi shoved his bags into the back of the bus and shared a pained look with his sister. She might not have shared his taste in music, but if nothing else, they could agree on what they hated. If the woman started playing Miley Cyrus, Hitoshi was fairly certain his sister would be more than happy to join him in walking to Greece.
Hitoshi covered his ears with a pair of the same bulky headphones as his sister wore and searched through his iPod for something louder than Lady Gaga.((This is what Hitomi's headphones look like. Yes, I'm serious. Hitoshi's are probably something more tasteful.))

Alex trundled sleepily forward behind Hitoshi, a light raincoat tossed over his head and a hat on top of that. He had only his backpack stuffed with clothing and necessities- though his parents being the excessively practical type, it was a huge, internal-frame hiking-backpack that had gotten him through every field trip since fourth grade- and a laptop bag stuffed with everything else he thought he'd need, that mostly being his laptop.
He made some kind of gesture that was probably meant to be a wave at Hitomi as he leaned his backpack against the wall; he then opened it up and took a light blanket and pillow out of heaven-only-knew-where, stuck the coat and hat in the created space, and hopped into a window seat to nap through the bus ride.
If he could make it through the screaming, he'd be just great.

"Oh, what a beautiful morning! Oh, what a beautiful day!" Rudeth sang out as he waltzed through the courtyard. "I've got a beautiful feeling... Everything's going my way!"
Rudeth's bags were slung over her his shoulders, and he was dressed lightly in a t-shirt and shorts. Rudeth loved field trips. He loved any sort of trip, really--Rudeth loved traveling and moving around and just being new places. And he really loved the idea of going to Greece.
Rudeth slung his bags haphazardly into the back of the bus--he didn't remember bringing anything breakable along with him so that would probably be fine. He looked around the courtyard, waiting for Aritha.

Post by Notos Aetai on Jun 8, 2010 15:42:37 GMT -5
Notos HATED getting up early in the morning, so he had just stayed up all night and problem solved. Notos had only packed a backpack, he was going to Greece after all. Notos' earphones were on his ears, not around his neck and music beat loudly from them.
Today he wore even less clothes then usual, red and gold basketball shorts and a loose sleeveless shirt. He smiled as he found just the seat he was looking for right behind Veronique. He threw his bag below his foot rest and swung into the seat.
"HEY VERO!!!MUSSSSIIIICCCC SPAAAAAAAAAAM!!!" He shoved his earphones onto her head and turned up the German version of the Pokemon theme song so loud a normal person's ears should have bled.

Veronique fumed, momentarily paralyzed with rage. The ungodly noise was so loud that she could hardly even hear what sort of monstrosity was blaring in her ears, only that she could hear nothing else. The moment she remembered how to move, Veronique tore the headphones off of her ears and wrapped the cord around Notos' neck, pulling it tight. Just a bit more pressure, and...
"Listen to me, and listen well, you impudently little whelp," she seethed. "You are not to talk to me. You are not to touch me. You are not to look at me. If you disturb my vacation once more, I will personally beat you into next semester." Her eyes narrowed. "And you are to call me Headmaster or Madame Poulain. The next time you refer to me so informally, I swear to every god you worship, I will throw you in front of the bus and flatten you."

"Now why would I worship some other God, that just doesn't make sense." Notos managed to choke out. He jumped up on his seat too, grabbing her around the shoulder and driving them both down to the floor. "Pre-trip tackle!!" He yelled as they hit the floor rolling.

Ellie had to jump up, supporting her weight using the backrests of the seats to either side of the isle, to avoid the boulder of super happy fun time rolling in her direction.
"Hey!" After landing, she threw out her hand, and a magical barrier engulfed them, separating into two halves like a dividing cell. "If you're going to mow people down, at least wait until you have crowds to aim for."

Kemekin had gladly taken the driver's seat when Vero'd left it, and was flipping through the cd collection given to him, voicing his opinion on each one as he passed:
"Crap, crap, crap, loud crap, crap, autotuned crap, crap with flamboyant costumes, french crap--ooh!" He came across a cd that was labelled in handwriting that was clearly not Vero's. It read: WARNING-- may cause bouts of RANDOM VIOLENT DANCING.
Kemekin grinned that Cheshire grin of his and put the cd in. It started off as an odd music-box tune, then quickly generated into something between video game techno and random indie music. Had Himmel hidden this in here?

Natsu slowly crept onto the bus and looked around nervously. "Hey, am I on the right . . . " Her eyes feel on Kemekin. "WHOA!!" Her eyes grew wider as she stared at the non-asian, "are you our bus driver?!"

Kemekin blinked a few times and turned his head towards the door. "Wha?" He spotted Natsu, smirked, and shook his head. "Oh, no. I'm just the snark manager."
He stood then, because god forbid Vero catch him in her seat. He pranced back towards where Jaebi sat and plopped down into the seat beside the boy.

Natsu pouted, slightly disappointed. She liked this kind of music and the not bus driver seemed to be nice. She looked around and Doucan was no where in sight. "Well, I don't want to just stand here," she muttered to herself. She quietly walked down the aisle of the bus and sat in the empty seat behind Kemekin. Being bored Natsu started to fiddle with her lavender, silver, white and dark blue prayer beads that hung around her waist.

Jaebi grinned when Kemekin plopped onto the seat. He heard the opening riff to Crazy Train blasting from the speakers and took that as his cue to slip his headphones over his ears.
"Wake me if Vero drives us off a cliff," he said to Kemekin, before crossing his arms over his stomach and leaning his head back against the seat.

Veronique gritted her teeth and pulled herself out of the floor, reclaiming the driver's seat. She had meant every word she had said to Notos. One more disruption from him, and he would be roadkill.
Veronique slammed her fist into the horn again. "Ten minutes!" she yelled. "Then I'm leaving without you!"

Julien was bored!! At least until a strange disturbance entered his vision. "A . . . 'Bus'?" he asked himself. He decided it was worth checking out. He sprinted, ran and then leapt on to the side of the bus and just hung in the window.
"HAI GUYS?! WHAT'S HANGIN?"

FUCK! Julien had slammed into the window at which Jaebi sat. The sudden thump and yelling made him start, so much so that he veritably dove sideways and landed half on top of Kemekin.
"Julien!"

Hitoshi stepped around the carnage, sighing inwardly. It was not so much that the headmistress' behavior was surprising, given that this sort of thing was a normal occurrence for her, but that didn't make it any better. This was going to be a long, long ride.
He headed toward the back of the bus, taking the seat next to Alex. He'd been hoping for a window seat, since that would mean he could sleep against the window, but he would rather sit next to Alex than on his own. He turned the volume up on his headphones and leaned back in the seat.
