Something about Alex's expression made him blush again, just a bit, though he didn't mind so much when it was Alex.
"I could think of worse things," he said simply, watching Alex out of the corner of his eye. It would certainly help him get his mind off of Hitomi's boyfriend. "You pick the next exhibit. I don't really have a preference."

If nothing else, I guess that's one very good thing Blaise did for me, Alex mused.
"All right. Let's go up to the front, you can stick your head in the sink, and we can look at what other exhibits there are. I think there's more Greek history someplace else in the building, and there are definitely other things."

"I wasn't entirely serious about that, though if you want to actually look at the map rather than wandering around like we have been, we can head back to the front."
Hitoshi gathered his phone from the floor -- which was thankfully in working order -- and shoved it back in his pocket.
"I think there were a few more exhibits about the military off to the left, and back the way we came there's more minor things about the gods and the like." He thought for a moment. "I think there were exhibits upstairs about the Greek heroes, and I know there's an exhibit about Alexander the Great somewhere because it was the first thing on the website."

"Oh. Well if you're in working order, then I guess we can head... left. Then upstairs. Then if we've got time, we can find the one with the guy I'm named after who conquered whatever it was he conquered." Alex smirked. "We never actually got to him in history class."

"He conquered a fair portion of three continents, if I remember correctly. Largest empire of its time, at least until the Roman Empire. He died relatively young, possibly of malaria. He was probably bisexual." He smirked. "I took World History under Professor Helmond last year. He preferred to focus on the ancient world than the more modern history than Professor Mervielle-Dion likes. He was a good professor."

"That's... not unimpressive," Alex replied.
The military exhibit was fascinating, if basic; there were timelines of wars, artifacts from battles, and a small section on phalanx formations that really made Alex want to play more shogi (and he mentioned as much to Hitoshi).
The one on Alexander was right next to the one on more mythical Greek heroes. There were bits on Odysseus, Perseus, Heracles, Ariadne... and Achilles. Achilles right next to Alexander, with the story of Alexander's idolization of the hero and his and Hephaestion's journey to lay wreaths of laurel on the graves.
He looked through both sections with interest, and felt distinctly strange.
"Mmh. How long has it been since we ate? I think I'm feeling faint..." Alex checked his phone.

Hitoshi braced his hand against Alex's shoulder, feeling a vague sensation of déjà vu. His head swam slightly, and for a moment he felt like he must have been on the wrong side of the glass.
"It was just a few hours ago," Hitoshi murmured. "But yeah, I feel it to."

Alex blinked his eyes a few times, then opened his ears to the world around him. Other than Hitoshi and himself, though, he heard no significant magic in the area, and after a few moments he dropped the spell.
Too quickly- he felt his ears pop like he'd just come down from a height, and his head rang.
Oof, what was he grabbing? Hitoshi. He was holding Hitoshi. Alex didn't want to move at all, he felt like he'd be sick if he did.

"Oof--careful." Hitoshi's arms flew instinctively around Alex's middle. He pulled the other boy close, just as much to support himself as Alex, and though the weird sensation was still beating against his skull, he felt strangely better.
Eventually his light-headedness eased and Hitoshi became conscious of what he was doing, but by then, Hitoshi had no intention of letting go.

Alex squeezed Hitoshi and buried his head in the other boy's neck, nuzzling him a little. He was vaguely aware that this was not according to plan, and he was also vaguely aware (from somewhere that wasn't quite him) that his plans were stupid and they were going to change now.
"I'm sorry." He kissed Hitoshi gently on the jaw. "Mm sorry. Missed you."

Hitoshi's hands somehow found their way into Alex's hair, though he didn't remember doing so. He felt his face heat up, not unpleasantly, and searched himself for some sort of reply.
Hitoshi slipped his hand behind Alex's neck and angled his face toward his own, then did just about the only thing he could still remember how to do: he pulled Alex tight against him and kissed him like his life depended on it.

Eventually, Alex realized that he was standing in the middle of a museum that really ought to have been full of more people than it was making out with a boy he wasn't dating (though at this point he thought a 'technically' should probably be inserted there) for reasons he wasn't entirely cognizant of.
This was at about the time that his head stopped being fuzzy and feeling like it was in two places and once and started feeling mostly normal again, though he had a feeling that certain things had changed up there.
He stroked Hitoshi's cheek with his thumb and pulled away, immediately lost his balance and tripping over his own feet, then fell on his butt in the floor.
"G- ow." Alex took a deep breath, eyes wide and staring. "Ahhgh." He rubbed his face; it was hot enough that he was sure he must look like a cherry plum.

Hitoshi's eyes went wide for a moment and he peered down at Alex, though when it became obvious that Alex was more embarrassed than hurt, Hitoshi plopped down in the floor beside him and gave him what Hitoshi was sure was a rather ridiculous looking grin.
That had easily beaten out that ridiculous picture his sister had sent to him.
Hitoshi took Alex's hand loosely, his thumb trailing gently over the back of Alex's hand. He hadn't realized he had missed just being able to touch him, and a part of him registered that now it was definitely a bad idea for him to sleep in the same bed as Alex--not that it was going to stop him, of course.
He leaned his head against Alex's shoulder, onlookers be damned.
"Missed you, too," he murmured.

Alex blinked in confusion. Hitoshi was grinning? He wasn't sure he had ever seen that before. He pretended to shift into a more comfortable position, reached into his pocket, and with a tiny click, saved this moment for posterity.
And then he was even more confused. "Wait, what?"

Hitoshi blinked at the flash. "What did you--" A picture. Alex just took a picture. "You--" He paused, then looked at Alex, equally confused. "What?"

Alex just kind of stared at Hitoshi.
"You said something. What?" He looked around and began standing up, patting Hitoshi on the shoulder. "Uhm. What... happened? I felt sick and then... I- oh shit." Alex's hand flew over his mouth, and had he not still been blushing, he would've done so again.

Hitoshi pulled himself up to his feet after Alex. "You... um." Hitoshi looked a bit sheepish, and wondered if maybe what happened was just something else he could add to the list of weird shit that kept happening. Still...even if Alex had every intention of just forgetting about this, Hitoshi couldn't exactly say he regretted doing that.
Hitoshi licked his lips and didn't quite meet Alex's eyes. "Do you want me to tell you the truth, or was that rhetorical?"

"I..." Alex thought about that for a moment. "I want to know what just happened. I'm not sure whether I remember clearly."
"But, before you do... whatever I did, I think I meant to do it." He stared at some point on the wall that didn't have writing on it, not sure what the hell it was he was feeling.

"You said you started feeling weird after reading one of the plaques, then you grabbed me and acted like you were about to fall, and then..." Hitoshi's blush darkened slightly, and a warm sensation prickled down his neck. He pressed his lips together slightly. "You kissed me and said something about missing me, and--" Hitoshi looked sideways at Alex. "And, ah, you remember the rest, I guess."

Alex sighed and crossed his arms. "That's really weird." He looked over at Hitoshi; a moment ago he looked like he owned the world, and now... It was flattering and disturbing at the same time.
"Should I apologize?"

Hitoshi inclined his head to look at Alex, his expression mostly unreadable. "No, I--let me think for a moment."
Hitoshi took a deep breath, closing his eyes. His glasses had slipped a bit, and he pushed them up the bridge of his nose. There was most definitely something strange going on, and Hitoshi was beginning to see a very clear pattern.
He opened his eyes and stepped toward the plaque on the wall, skimming over the text. "This one." He glanced back over his shoulder. "This was the one you were reading, the one about Achilles?"

"Y-yeah," Alex replied. Relationship concerns were pushed to the side for the moment, as he realized that something had been affecting his mind. He hunched his shoulders, feeling infringed upon and a little angry.
"Why? Is there something strange about the plaque?"

"It's not the plaque, not exactly." He shook his head slightly. "It's what it says. Alexander the great patterned himself after the Greek hero Achilles, and went so far as to compare Hephaestion to Patroclus. They traveled to the tomb of the heroes and lay laurels on their graves."
He licked his lips slightly. "I told you about reading The Iliad and the death of Patroclus. You felt it too, didn't you?"

Alex chewed on his bottom lip and stared unblinking at the plaque.
"Felt what?" His voice was strained.

"I don't know how to describe it, exactly," he admitted. "But...something. Like déjà vu. The first time I read through The Iliad, I kept feeling like I'd read it before. Everything looked strangely familiar." He shrugged one shoulder.
"I assumed it was just because I'd heard bits and pieces of the story before. It's not exactly an uncommon one. But then I felt it again when I started reading that, and the way you started talking when you saw the armor...you were talking like you were there, and you admitted that Prof. Mervielle-Dion didn't teach about Ancient Greece."
He strained himself, trying to pull forth the exact wording of the Prophecy, but couldn't seem to recall what he had heard. There was something about the gods, and the third cataclysm, and a lot that sounded terribly ominous, but he knew there was something he was forgetting.
He glanced back at Alex. "When we heard the prophecy, I think there might have been something important there, but I can't remember the wording."
