Sae handed the paper to Vincent. "We are considering doing Dr. Faustus and A Doll's House in the Fall semester then doing Rent and Six Characters In Search Of An Author in the Spring."
He tapped his toe on the ground and scratched the side of his cheek with his index finger as he thought. "It's not final yet," he said, his eyes on the floor but his thoughts obviously residing elsewhere.

Vincent took the paper and looked it over with interest, nodding in approval of Sae's choices. He handed the paper back with a grin. "That's quite the range of subject matter you have there. I approve."

Sae smiled happily as he came out of his thoughts. "Why thank you, Professor," he said as he took the paper and placed it back into his book.
"Are you still wanting to help with Rent?" he inquired. He turned to Vincent and smiled. "I can sing but I know nothing of sing AND dance. Perhaps you could teach me in the arts of musicals?"

"You're very welcome," Vincent replied with a smile and a nod. "I'll do what I can. I'm not an expert in choreography by any means -- singing is and has always been my forte -- but I'd be happy to contribute wherever possible."

"I can choreograph fights," Sae said thoughtfully, "but dance has mostly eluded me." An amused smile spread across his features. "Are there any teachers that you know who could possibly help us in our dilemma?" he inquired.

Vincent looked thoughtful for a while as he pondered the question. "I can't recall the name of the dance professor off the top of my head, but there are a few students that I know of who know a fair bit about dancing. Dubhiarr MacNamara, Stephen Shorne, and Aye Goyan, for a start."

Sae quickly commented the names to memory. He nodded, "I will try to talk with them later," he said, "Thank you, Professor."
SaeRyun looked the teacher over once with a curious eye. "Do you fence, Sir?" he asked, "or have you ever fenced before?"

Vincent couldn't help but grin. "Not professionally, but I often play at it with Rhythan in the kitchens, using harmless utensils. We two can get pretty boisterous once we're started," he laughed. "There was also my proposal to Diana -- that was mostly for fun and drama, though. We used prop swords. Rivienne would have killed me if I'd dared use a real one against her son."
"Diana, however, is quite good at fencing," he added, still grinning. "She's been taking lessons for a number of years, and has given me the odd lesson now and then. Rivienne Volkova is also extremely good, as is her son Rudeth. He was a great help to me for my proposal."

Sae smiled enthusiastically. "So you do fence a bit?" he asked to clarify. "I fence quite a bit," he said as an answer as to why he asked. "I've been doing it for," he paused to think, "seventy-two years? Yes, yes, I think that is correct."
He flipped his angular bangs out of his face. "So how DID you propose?" he asked, "I am very intrigued."

Vincent raised his eyebrows a little at the length of time Sae had been learning to fence. Not that it was very surprising, given what Sae was.
He smiled reminiscently at the query about his proposal. "It was quite the elaborate affair. I had one of my daughter's friends bring a gift to her apartment on my behalf, with a note hidden inside the gift. The note held a riddle, which led her to someone elsewhere in the school holding another riddle to solve, which led her to a third person, and so on and so forth.
"The last riddle led her to the mess hall, where Rudeth and I were waiting for her. I was dressed as a knight, and Rudeth was a prince; I was Sir Vincent of Albion, and he was Prince Rudeth of Volkovia. I started to propose to the Lady Diana once she reached me, but Prince Rudeth challenged my right to wed her, and I battled against him to prove it. Queen Rivienne begged me not to harm her son, and I let him live with his dignity intact." He smirked.
"Once done, I again asked for Diana's hand, and she promised it to me a thousand times over. Then Veronique, the Queen of Darkness and Forced Education, came forth and gave her blessing on our union. Afterward Diana and I had an elaborate supper, made especially for us by Ellie and Rhythan. It was a truly glorious day," he concluded, grinning.

Sae's smile broadened throughout the story, laughing as Vincent described the duel. He had to clear his thoat and sigh a few times to stop his boughts of polite laughter. "That has got to be the most theatrical, amazing proposal I have yet heard of," he replied, once he caught his breath.
He clapped a few times and said, "I applaud you, Sir." He covered his mouth with the back of his hand, as if he was trying to stop another fit of laughter. He couldn't fight back a chuckle as he muttered, "m-most amusing."

"It was," Vincent replied, laughing along with Sae. "And so much fun. I wish you had been there, I imagine you would have loved it."
He turned slightly at the sound of the door opening, and beamed at the sight of who had walked in the door. He signed a greeting to Diana and blew her a kiss, then turned to Sae, still beaming. "Speaking of love, here comes mine. Come and meet her!"
He led Sae over to Diana as she crossed toward them, smiling as he spoke and signed to Diana, then spoke to Sae. "Diana, I'd like you to meet a new friend of mine, SaeRyun Rim. Sae, this is Diana Harrows, soon to be Diana Hawk."

Diana smiled and returned Vincent's greeting and kiss, looking curiously at the other man, whom she didn't recognize. She walked toward the pair of them, watching Vincent's hands as he signed to her, and smiled as she signed to SaeRyun, trusting Vincent to translate for her to avoid confusion.
It's a pleasure to meet you, SaeRyun.

Sae smliled and made a flourishing bow. "The pleasure is all mine, dear lady," he said once he had righted himself once more. He wasn't sure if he had spoken slow enough for her to read his lips or not and glanced at Vincent.
"You're future husband has told me nothing but the best of you," he added, slower with a smile.

Diana smiled and curtseyed in response to SaeRyun's bow, then raised her eyebrows and grinned at his words about Vincent. Yes, that definitely sounded like him -- never an unkind word about anyone.
That sounds just like him, she signed. What do you do, SaeRyun? He looked young enough to be a student, but then, so did some of the professors. You never could tell with vampires, and this man obviously was one. She could smell it on him.

Sae smiled and answered, "I am assisting Professor Smoke with the theatre department here." He nodded towards Vincent as he continued, "It so happens that Mr. Hawk and I have similar passions and he will, hopefully, be assisting me in our musical next school year." It was fairly obvious exactly how excited SaeRyun was about all of this. His face was practically beaming as he explained the events to Diana.

Vincent had to grin, partially at being called "Mr. Hawk" and partially at the utterly ecstatic look on Sae's face as he gave Diana his job description. It was quite clear where the man's passions lay.
"Please, call me Vincent," he told his friend with a laugh. "Or Professor Hawk, if you must."

Ah, so he was a TA. Diana smiled and nodded in understanding, trying not to laugh at the sheer excitement on Sae's face. I see. I'm sure he will be a great help -- Vincent is an expert in the art of music. There's scarcely a better man for the job. Best of luck -- or should I say, break a leg? She grinned.

Sae nodded at Vincent and said, "Oh yes, sorry, Professor. I did not mean to be so informal."
To Diana he smiled. "Break a leg is the proper theatre term, my lady," he said, glad that she understood the ways of the arts. "I am sure, with the help of Professor Hawk, that our musical will be a success, once I get into the swing of how things are done here," he added, "I must admit I have been to many theatres but never one of the scale here at Dunehelden."

Diana nodded and smiled. I'm certain it will be, with Vincent and Smoke working with you. How long have you been involved in theater?

Sae smiled in rememberance as he answered, "Over sixty years." He nodded to himself in affrimation and explained, "I got into theatre when I was very young. I was actually planning on being a professional actor when I was in high school, but . . ." He looked down slightly and muttered, "Well, those dreams changed after a few things happened."
Sae returned his gaze to Diana, "I couldn't very well be famous and never age, people would get suspicious. So, I descided to go around to different areas of the world, studying the differences in theatre, attending schools and participating where ever I could." His smile slowly returned to his face as he finished, "And that's how I came across Dunehelden."

Diana watched Sae's mouth carefully as he told his story. When he was finished, she nodded, smiling. When did you arrive here? I don't remember seeing you here earlier in the semester.
She wondered just how old he was; he didn't look a day over twenty, but he could easily have been over a hundred, maybe even two. Most of the vampires here were around that old, at least among the faculty. It was even harder to tell with the students.

Sae nodded and answered, "I arrived at the beginning of the spring break." He smiled as he explained, "I came early to get my bearings and to try to get things in a sort of order before the students got here."
He pondered to himself if Diana was as into the theatrical arts as her soon to be husband was. She definatley had potential, with the confidence that she held herself. Then again, he believed that everyone, if they had a desire to, could act.

Good idea, Diana replied with a smile. Preparing to start a new school year can be hectic, but not normally quite as hectic as getting ready to end one. Not to mention everything in between, especially in this place. There were certain things she was sure everyone would rather erase from memory completely, but sadly, time was rarely that kind.

Sae's smile became confident as he said, "I would rather hope things to be slightly mad around here. It would be a very boring existance if everything went 'according to plan'." He flipped his angled bangs out of his face as he continued, "This is supposed to be a place of magic and wonder, I would expect it to be less . . ." He quirked his mouth to the right side, searching for the propper word. He finally gave up and chuckled, "I suppose the phrase 'expect the unexpected' would probably work best to define this place."
