Jason laughed. "I really hope so. My father has expressed an interest in meeting you, which must count for something. And he's the one who has the final word in my house, so it's mostly a matter of winning him over. Being the youngest of the family as well as the only son helps sometimes, and when that fails, my sisters will be only too happy to help out their little brother."
He grinned and sat back a little, still holding Zeph's hand. He frowned a little as something occurred to him. "Did I remember to order us drinks?"

Zeph chuckled, "No."
He leaned back a tiny bit as well, only so far as he could and still have his hand in Jason's. Winning over Jason's father... his eyes widened suddenly. "Um... Jason? Does your family speak English?"

"Yes," Jason assured him with a smile. "My sisters do it more often than my parents though, so they're a bit more fluent. We'll be fine." He rubbed Zeph's hand soothingly, grinning a bit as his stomach growled. "All the food smells in here are making me even hungrier."

Zeph relaxed a little, his eyes starting to close. "That's good. I have trouble pronouncing German."
He sighed softly, letting his hand tighten a bit around Jason's. Finally their food got there and Zeph reclaimed his hand before the plate could be put on his arm. He sat a bit straighter, noticing that he had been right and Jason had forgotten about drinks. He caught the waiter's attention before he left, asking for what drinks they had. He would be content, and more than content, with water but Jason might want something else.

Jason smiled. "I noticed. That's the same problem I have with Greek, not to mention that the language itself is written in symbols I can't read." He looked up as the waiter approached their table, releasing Zeph's hand. "Ooo, food."
When Zeph caught the waiter's attention and asked about drinks, Jason ordered water and let Zeph speak for himself. When the waiter left again, he looked over at Zeph. "It's not going to offend you if I pray before I eat, is it?"

Zeph grinned at him, "What do you think I am, rude? Just because I'm anything but religious doesn't mean you can't be. Just don't expect me to imitate you."
He picked at his pasta, forcing himself to take a few bites before getting out his medications and taking them with a sip of water. Continuing to pick at the plate in front of him, he did actually eat most of the pasta there. He was going to break his bad habit of not eating. It might take a long time, but he did have to gain some weight still. He looked like he'd been a castaway or something and barely eating, rather than just missing for almost three days.

Jason smiled, crossing himself and bowing his head briefly in prayer before he started eating. He ate with considerably more gusto than Zeph, but he couldn't blame him at all for not being very hungry -- three days of starvation had taken its toll on Zeph. Jason knew that not eating for a long time tended to shrink one's stomach, and he figured it would be nothing short of uncomfortable to get it back to its proper size again.
He continued eating quietly, keeping his eyes on Zeph, glad that his boyfriend seemed to be doing okay... all things considered. Once he was finished, he sat back, stretching and idly glancing at his watch. His eyes suddenly widened and he gave a yelp of panic. "Ah, scheisse! We need to go or we'll be late for our flight!"

Zeph chuckled, "Go hail us a cab while I pay. It will probably take the same amount of time."
He got their check and set down a credit card, knowing it was going to take a while for the foreign card to pass through. He'd rather keep his cash for later. And things like cab rides.

Jason rushed outside, running toward the street and flagging down a cab. One arrived sooner than he had expected; luckily the driver spoke English, so Jason was able to ask him to wait until Zeph came out before leaving.
Spotting Zeph emerging from the restaurant, he waved a hand to call him over, opening the rear door of the cab and starting to climb inside. He shifted to the far side to make room for Zeph to sit.

Zeph slipped in beside him, letting him tell the cabbie where to take them. His eyes drifted closed as he leaned against Jason. Hopefully his stomach would behave... eating right after a fight had probably been a bad idea.
They barely made it in time to claim their seats on the plane. Zeph hugged Jason once they were in their seats. "Good thing you looked at your watch," he chuckled as the plane lifted off. "I don't think I've ever cut it so close."

Jason smiled, cuddling as close to Zeph as the armrest between them would allow. "Well, we made it, just in time too. We'll be in Germany in no time." He stroked Zeph's hair softly and kissed his cheek, yawning a little. All that food had made him tired. He closed his eyes and leaned his head on his boyfriend's shoulder in silent contentment.

Zeph smiled and leaned against Jason, his eyes drifting closed. As he had predicted in the restaurant, he fell asleep, happy to be mostly unhurt and with Jason. And getting away from all the things to remind him of what had happened.

Jason smiled, nuzzling Zeph gently as he drifted off to sleep as well.
- - -
Jason winced as he awoke, his ears aching. They must have popped again. He blinked his eyes open, looking around. The other people in the plane were standing up, stretching, taking down their carry-on luggage and starting to leave the plane. Jason smiled, seeing Zeph still fast asleep beside him. He reached over and gently shook his boyfriend's shoulder.
"Wake up," he said softly, his lips brushing Zeph's ear as he leaned in close. "We've landed."

Zephyros came to slowly, groaning as his body proclaimed its every ache to him in a loud voice. He ran his fingers through his hair, yawning widely. "Mkay... just a minute..." he mumbled, rubbing his eyes. Carefully pulling himself to his feet, he stretched and hissed as his shoulder popped.
"Okay, I guess we should get off then huh?" he said, turning to grin at Jason. Who was between him and the aisle. His leg was bothering him again, and his chest especially. The air almost seemed thinner here... it was definitely drier. Zeph couldn't help but wonder if that was a good thing for him. His doctor hadn't seemed to think there was a problem... of course his doctor hadn't expected him to get in a fight halfway to Germany, either. Maybe I should go to a hospital or urgent care center or something to get that looked at... we didn't have time in Italy but I shouldn't just brush off pain. I've been doing that a lot recently. He leaned over carefully and kissed Jason, grinning. It can wait.

Jason smiled and kissed Zeph fondly back, and noticing the tiredness in his face. He retreived his carry-on and let Zeph lean gently on him as he headed out of the plane and into the terminal. They joined the group of others at the luggage terminal, waiting for their bags to come around to them. Jason spotted one of his bags and quickly retrieved it, looking around just in case he had missed the other. He hooked one arm around Zeph's waist and rested his head on his boyfriend's shoulder, smiling up at him.

Zeph caught his single suitcase and Jason's other bag. He hugged Jason somewhat awkwardly with full hands, pulling his bag over his shoulder.
"So... what was the plan from here?" he asked, putting Jason's other bag down quickly. Holding his own bag was pushing what his ribs could handle. Though Zeph needed more cooler weather clothes anyway, which was why he only had the one bag. All of the things he'd worn last year didn't fit. So he was planning on just buying enough for school while here in Germany.
Another reason for that credit card he had...

"Father said everyone would be meeting us," Jason answered, stepping over to his other bag and looking around for a trolley to put them on. It would be easier than trying to carry all three of them. Sighting a few trolleys over in a corner, he darted away to grab one, wheeling it back toward Zeph and starting to put his bags onto it. As he did so he looked around the room again, wondering if his family had arrived yet.
Casper Hiller led his family briskly forward, looking around the room and soon spotting his only son standing beside a boy about his height, with golden-bronze skin and blond curls down to his shoulders. He was dressed in what looked like a green tunic, with beige slacks underneath. Casper caught his son's eye and tipped him a nod of acknowledgement.
Jason automatically stood up a little straighter as his father caught his gaze, smiling as he spotted his mother and sisters as well. Oh, how he had missed them. He turned the trolley around and wheeled it toward his family, glancing at Zeph and nodding for him to follow. He stopped a few feet in front of his father, stepping away from the trolley and standing at attention. "Good afternoon, Father."
Casper smiled a little and nodded. "Good afternoon, Jason. At ease."
Jason obediently relaxed his stance, and Casper came forward and clapped him gently but firmly on the shoulder. "It's good to see you again, son."
"And you, Father," Jason answered, smiling.
As his father lowered his hand, Jason stepped toward his mother and sisters, and was immediately envolped in a grouphug by the three of them. He looked happily up at them all... his mother, warm and gentle in features and mood; Helen, tall and beautiful, with her mother's gracious eyes; Ariadne, darker but no less beautiful than Helen, taking more after her father in appearance.
"It's good to have you home," Helen smiled down at him.
"It's good to be home," Jason smiled back. He slipped out of the hug and returned to Zeph's side, looking at his family. "Zeph, this is my father and mother, and my sisters, Helen and Ariadne." He nodded to each of them in turn. "Everyone, this is my boyfriend, Zephyros." He looked at his father and added, "Thank you for allowing me to bring him here."
Casper nodded, looking at the young blond with an unreadable expression which was nonetheless pleasant. "Welcome, Zephyros. I hope you will find Nuremberg enjoyable."

Zephyros' eyes searched his face nervously as the Greek licked his lips a little. He hesitantly offered Casper his hand, looking almost afraid of getting hurt. "I doubt anything will happen that could make it less enjoyable than my summer so far," he said softly. Wincing slightly, he put a hand to his ribs, biting his lip. Closing his eyes, he leaned over a little, still pressing a hand to his ribs.
"I'm sorry..." he breathed, focusing on keeping his feet. His other hand reached out and caught Jason's shoulder as he started coughing, his fingers tightening to Jason's shoulder as he tried harder to keep his feet.

Jason supported Zeph carefully, looking at him in worry and biting his lip. He turned his gaze to his father and spoke. "We need to get him to a hospital... he was injured during a layover in Italy." He didn't elaborate on how.
Casper nodded. "We'll take him. Come." He turned away, starting to lead them all away. Helen came forward to take Jason's luggage trolley, taking Zeph's bag from him and putting it on the trolley as well. She maneuvered the trolley with one hand, using the other to help support Zeph as they walked.
They left the airport quickly, heading out into the parking lot and toward the Hillers' car. After getting Jason and Zeph's luggage into the trunk, they climbed into the car. Ariadne climbed into the front seat between her mother and father, leaving room for Helen, Jason and Zeph in the back. Helen took the seat at the far side, leaving room for Jason and Zeph to sit beside each other.
Jason climbed carefully into the car, helping Zeph in beside him. He looked at his boyfriend in concern as he buckled his seatbelt. "Are you doing okay? Relatively?"

Zeph leaned against him a little, nodding. "Yeah... It just hurt for a moment," he said softly, his eyes closed. He'd regained control of his breathing, but figured it was probably best to mostly just sit there and breathe carefully. His hand rested on his ribs still, the slight pressure helping ease the discomfort Apollos had created. Hopefully his family wouldn't find out about that or dispassionate Euros himself might hunt Apollos down and show him the error of messing with an Aetai.
Or just messing with the still healing Zephyros. Green eyes flickered open and Zeph smiled up at Jason, putting a hand on his cheek. "It's not so bad, Jason. Get that look off your face. You know you've seen me worse."

Jason smiled again, resting his hand upon Zeph's and cuddling close. "Yeah."
Helen watched the two of them quietly, smiling to herself. It was good to see Jason this happy with someone. His last relationship had not ended well... though that could have been in part due to the fact that he had been pressured to keep his relationship secret from their parents, particularly Father. Now that Jason's preferences were out in the open, maybe things would go better. It definitely looked promising.
Casper glanced at his son through the mirror above the windshield, seeing him smile as he talked softly with his boyfriend. It was good to see Jason happy, though Casper would have greatly preferred this kind of relationship to happen between Jason and a young woman. But the boy had always been his own person, however obedient he had been to Casper and Heidi.
Casper sighed, remembering the day Jason had come clean about his preference for the male sex. Jason really hadn't seen it as a form of rebellion against his father or God, despite his strong Catholic beliefs, and being a werewolf on top of all that complicated the matter all the more. Jason's homosexuality may have been a choice, but the werewolf's bite had not been. Casper could never blame his son for that.
Even so, Casper reasoned, despite Jason's choice, he had still shown a great love for Christian values and ideals. He obeyed his parents willingly, was kind to everyone, and had a great deal of respect for his superiors. He followed the Commandments and revered Mary and God alike. There was nothing to criticize about him in that respect.
He turned his eyes to the road ahead of them, drumming his fingers on the steering wheel. He would give Jason and Zeph a fair chance, Casper decided. They deserved it, after all that Zeph had been through recently.

Zephyros smiled up at Jason again, his eyes closing slowly. Yawning, he snuggled close. Green eyes flickered open and met Casper's in the mirror, full of memories and pain... and the comfort Jason gave him. His eyes closed again, Jason's presence and the car's motion better than any lullaby. He sighed softly and fell asleep, his head still leaning against Jason's shoulder.
He woke up when the car stopped, looking around blankly. Looking up at Jason, he yawned again and smiled. Wherever he was, Jason was there which meant it was okay.

Jason looked up and sighed in relief as the car stopped in front of the hospital. He met Zeph's eyes and smiled, taking his hand. He unbuckled his seatbelt, then opened the car door with his free hand, getting out and leaning back inside to help Zeph.
Casper got out of the car and came around to help, gently scooping the drowsy blond into his arms and carrying him into the hospital. His family followed closely behind him; Jason held one of Zeph's hands and massaged it gently as they walked.
They reached the front desk, and Jason quickly explained about Zeph's injuries to the receptionist. A doctor arrived and led them into a nearby room, where Casper laid Zeph gently down on a bed. The doctor checked Zeph over carefully, examining both his leg and his ribs. She said something in German, which Jason translated for Zeph.
"Your leg is healing well," he told Zeph. "Your ribs will be fine, as long as you don't get them hit again."

Zeph blinked a little, trying to wake up completely. "That shouldn't be too hard to avoid... I rather doubt I'm going to get hurt here, via a fight or otherwise."
He shivered a little, closing his eyes tightly. Physically he was healing well maybe, but... well, that was part of why he'd come to Germany with Jason. At least Casper and Heidi were both being as friendly as Zeph's own father had been, and not like his mother. Even if they didn't approve of his relationship with their son...

Jason massaged Zeph's hand gently, looking up as the doctor spoke again. He nodded and looked back at Zeph. "She says you're okay to go if you feel up to it. Think you're awake enough to walk?"
