Name: Nina Paem (Lundgren)
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Eye Color: Very dark green tinged with a very pale blue and gold. A dark shade of blue rings around the outer edge of her iris.
Hair Color: Silvery-blonde with darker bits that are more of a sandy color. It is choppy, generally reaching lengths between her jaw and her shoulders.
Height: 5’3’’
Weight: 127 lbs
Significant Physical Details: Quite pretty, in a sweet way that makes one want to protect her. She has sharp teeth, oddly enough. Nina is aesthetically toned, with a compact musculature best suited for the kind of strength she utilizes best—that used for gripping and holding and short bursts of speed; akin to that of a serpent. Also like a snake, she has the flexibility to better that of a contortionist. The reason? Nina is double-jointed. Everywhere. When it comes to breakage, she is delicate—however Nina is more than capable of executing a devastating array of holds and chokes. Her structure is long despite her smaller frame. Even her voice is small. It is quiet, with a subtle rasp to it. (She squeaks when you surprise her. ^^ cute.) No sparkles, no fur.
Class (we need to know what grade you're in to put you in classes, remember to specify whether you're in academy or university): Academy Junior
Major (required for university students, optional for high schoolers): undecided
Sexual Orientation (If you put something stupid like 'lot's I'm going to hurt you): she appreciates the affections of both genders, though she tends to lean towards those of the male persuasion.
Hobbies: yoga, sleeping, ballet, kung fu (snake and crane primarily), art (her preferred medium is chalk or pastels).
Fears: Complete silence (it drives her crazy), excessive violence (she gets caught up in it—and an angry Nina is a dangerous Nina)
Blood Type: Type O
School: Favorite Spells (We don't like surprises): she puts constant protective barriers around her joints and any other areas she can pop in and out of place. It’s not really a single spell but it keeps her from ruining her own body.
Magical Strengths (What are you best at?): Abjuration. Barriers, mostly. Aside from what is mentioned above she is pretty cautious with how she uses her magic.
Magical Weakness (Spells you suck at and things that can kick your ass.): Her magic is not strong for offense. She relies on her own physical abilities in a battle and uses her magic to protect herself.
Character History: Nina’s mother was a busy woman—she ran a travelling circus based out of Sweden and Austria, and often left her daughter to be watched by the less menacing of the circus’s attractions—the trapeeze artists, the ringmaster, the clowns. Nina made friends with the snake handler—an old former monk who had a permanent sadness about him over the loss of his wife and the unspeakable fate of his son (do you see the connection I’m making here?) Nina had never known her father, but the monk proved to be an excellent substitute. He taught her what he could, and as her magic started to develop he realized that she wouldn’t find the tuelage she needed with the circus. When the group passed through southeast China he bade her go to the temple his son called home. She did so, sad to leave her carnie friends but knowing that her mother of all people would not miss her.
At the temple she met Haneul, and until she came of age to be enrolled at Dunehelden she lived with the monks, learning how to refine her odd physical talents to their most useful. She had shed her mother’s last name (Lundgren) and took the name that Haneul had given her before he himself had left for Dunhelden—Paem, meaning “snake.”
