Jonathan nodded, smiling a bit at the thought of Vero ripping the perpetrator apart. For some reason, he pictured him as Hitoshi. Didn't know why, but Jonathan was weird like that.
"Who says it's someone from here?" Jonathan said bluntly. "People in this school are a bunch of freaks who wet their pants at the sight of Veronique. No one at this school would dare try this. Or, at least, there's no one who would that can."

Up until then Kemekin had been off to the side, watching three older students. Curiosity had kept him there, listening, but by this time the tan boy's was a presence he didn't care to be in. At this last statement, Kemekin felt a numbness creeping into his hands and feet. He took this as his cue to leave-- and he did so, his jaw clenched as he reached the doors and once again slung his bookbag over his shoulder.

Jonathan should have let the boy go. But he was too tempted. It was just too much potential fun.
"I'm sorry." He said, rounding on the retreating boy. "Where exactly are you going? Trying to flee from the scene of the crime? You wouldn't happen to be a mage, would you? Where were you last night?"

Kemekin turned about on his heel, walking straight up to the taller young man with a smile that was nothing less than angelic.
"Asking for an alibi, inspector? Fine then; from dinnertime until curfew I was with my girlfriend. From curfew until midnight I was with my aunt-- she's the Healer here. After that she walked me to my dorm so no teachers could give me detention for being out. And I've been in there until I chose to walk down here. Ask my roommate-- ask any one of the three. They'll set you straight if you don't believe me, Jonnyboy."

Jonathan's ears went red at the nickname. That was annoying. If it caught on, he was going to rip this boy to shreds.
"So. Girlfriend, then aunt." Jonathan mocked. "What were you doing with your aunt, anyways? Girlfriend not giving enough? Need a little dessert after dinner?"

Kemekin's blue eyes became steely. The numbness had become a static, buzzing throughout his arms and legs and clouding into his chest. Jonathan's disrespect for Elliestraaeln brought a sharp spike to that buzzing-- it felt like a thousand furious hornets were milling about inside him. And they longed to sting.
"My aunt is also my tutor," he told him, his voice still jovial, though the tone was obviously chilled by an underlying tone of acidity. "We have similar abilities, you see. Mine are a little... unruly, though." Kemekin flexed the hand not hooked around the strap of his backpack, his grin becoming mischievous. "I've had incidents before-- she's teaching me to control it. So that I don't do things like this."
Kemekin reached out and shoved his hand palm-forward into Jonathan's stomach, sending forth the magic that he had so very little control over. Luckily, it still felt mild, not yet the stinging crystalline strands that caused him such pain.
"So in the future," he said, still feigning that now eerily happy tone of voice, "I suggest you learn when to shut your goddamn mouth and never" he pushed harder against the young man, though he managed to cut off the flow of magic before it could do the serious harm he knew he wanted it to, "even imply any ill of Ellie. Ever." Kemekin straightened and plastered a big smile onto his features, turning and walking once again to the exit. He had not hurt the boy-- if nothing else, Kemekin was smart enough to realize that this person would have little trouble hurting him if he could catch him. Granted, Kemekin was fast-- but the oh-so-aggravating young man was taller, bigger...
That wouldn't stop him from smarting off, though. "You have a nice day there, Jonnyboy." To the other two, he said, "I'll see you guys around. Have fun watching him try to walk for the next few minutes."

Ian shook his head. Jonathan was going to have to learn how to deal with other human beings, or else something very bad was going to happen. Turning back to Seele, he ignored Jonathan's attempts to get off the floor.
"So. Symbols. Something from outside the school? I'm actually... er... starting to think a mage did it."
