Hitoshi turned slightly, glancing at the two of them. "Xander, Aisling."
He looked back at Ian and Aramis. "These are my nephews, Xander and Aisling Elderton. You remember my sister Hitomi, of course? They're freshmen this year."

Ian nodded. "Yes... I think you've mentioned these two before... can't remember the specifics." He scratched his head, seriously wishing that Natalie were here to bail him out.

Aramis chuckled, finishing his cup of tea and standing to rinse his cup out. "This school really is a family affair. You either are born in the family or get absorbed. Hello, boys. I have some things I need to get doing, so I will probably see you two around."
He gave them a distant nod, cleaning his cup and putting the box of pastries where he had found it before absently brushing his hair from his face as he left. He put a hand on Ian's shoulder, "Don't worry about specifics too much. Focus on your classes, hm?"
Giving Hitoshi and Alex a distant nod, one born of the shy tendencies that had gotten him in trouble so many times before, he left the lounge, flicking his braid back over his shoulder and his hair out of his face again. His daughter would love for him to get a hair-cut... but somehow it didn't seem like it would feel right.

"Uncle Hitoshi, can we have french toast?" Aisling said quietly and from behind a broad grin. He moved to hide behind his brother when Uncle Hitoshi brought the attention of the other people in the room to them. He didn't like being looked at, but it was an appropriate price to pay for breakfast.
He smiled at his Uncle Alex, still stuck in his brother's hug/headlock, hoping he would pipe up if Uncle Hitoshi said no.

Xander grinned. "Please?" he begged. "We're really hungry, and no one cooks like you." He glanced back at Alex, hoping for a little help if Hitoshi didn't agree at first. "It's been forever since you've cooked for us, and Mom never makes french toast, and Uncle Rudeth keeps threatening to feed us..." He gave his uncle a look like a wounded animal, fighting to keep himself from bursting into laughter.

Alex clasped his hands together in front of his face in mock horror. "Hitoshi, did you hear that? These poor boys have been practically starved. We absolutely must make them some french toast, and bacon and eggs and cheese and raspberry blintzes and whatever they want, as a welcoming gift to our fair castle."
Alex looked deeply into Hitoshi's eyes with absolutely the most adorable look in the world, for serious.

"French toast and blintzes, hm?" Hitoshi replied dryly, giving Alex a half-smile. "I really don't know what I'd do if you ever learned to cook for yourself."
Hitoshi gave a long suffering sigh and stood up. "Fine. If only to keep you from burning down the castle trying to make french toast yourselves."

"You could always teach Thrall how to cook things that don't involve classification as a chemical weapon?" Alex grinned and reached over to rustle Xander's hair, then Aisling's.
"Thank you, Hitoshi." He stood up and pecked the man on the cheek. "You know we appreciate it."

"Mm." Hitoshi wrapped his arms loosely around Alex. "Enjoying while it lasts. In ten years, I'm going to purge all the pantries of sugar before you give yourself diabetes. Rhythan can protest all he likes."
He glanced back at his nephews. "Let's get these two something to eat before one of them starts trying to devour the upholstery."

The door flew open and Paula Harris strode through it. The woman had just woken up, and before she could be anything close to pleasant she needed her morning coffee. Brushing past the teachers and students, she proceeded directly for the coffeemaker and poured herself a mug. Then she stood for a moment, sipping at the top, before turning to face the assembled group.
"Someone broke into my room last night." She informed the teachers, particularly the Headmaster. "I know who it was, and you know who it was as well. Are we ever going to do something about him or is he just going to keep coming and going as he wishes?" She leaned against the back of Ian's chair. "I'm all for not killing him but something has to be done."

Hitoshi rubbed the bridge of his nose, sighing. "Actually, no, I haven't the slightest clue who you mean," he replied briskly. "Do you mean Lhachlhass? Jonathan? One of the freshmen? Quite frankly, that could be half of the inhabitants of the castle."

Sighing and rubbing her temple with her free hand, Paula sat down in the chair she was leaning on. "The freshmen are terrified of me, and you know this, as are most students in this Castle." She said. "And between Lhachlhass and Jonathan, their versions of 'fun' are slightly different. Only one of the two finds amusement in tossing my clothes everywhere, urinating in my sink, and writing rude messages in lipstick on my mirrors. The other is much more... disturbed."
She took a long sip of her coffee. "But I am talking about Jonathan, if that needs to be specified."

"This is a problem, isn't it?" Hitoshi murmured. He glanced back at Ian. "Well, he is your responsibility. Do you have any suggestions? Because the most effective method I've found for dealing with him is ignoring him."

Ian shivered at the mere thought of Jonathan being "his responsibility" and shook his head. "That usually works best. Unless your surname is Harris, in which case, he's going to keep coming back again and again until you've moved out of the castle where he can't get you." He shrugged. "I think he's still mad about... well... there are about six different things I can think of off the top of my head that he might be mad about."

Aisling was, indeed, afraid of the woman; he attempted to crouch enough to hide behind Hitoshi, but failed, and so inched to the right in order to hide behind his brother.
Was Jonathan one of the ghosts? He sure sounded like it... Hearing the edge come out in Uncle Alex's voice was a little scary.

"Well, fortunately enough for me, my last name isn't 'Harris'," Hitoshi replied coolly. "Which means that this isn't exactly my problem. If you manage to come up with any suggestions for how to get rid of him, by all means alert me, but until then I have a school to run."
He paused. "And for future reference, you might want to put better security measures on your room, Professor. I really doubt Jonathan is intelligent enough to break through anything remotely well-guarded."

Paula's nostrils flared. She hadn't expected anything to get done, as it never did with regards to Jonathan. "You underestimate him. He's had almost twenty-five years to get intelligent. But whatever. I'll deal with him myself, as usual."
She snatched the half-eaten muffin out of Ian's hand, took a bite, and then handed it back to him. "Who are the students and why are they in the teacher's lounge?" She asked aloud to no one in particular.

Xander retreated behind Alex, shrinking back slightly out of the woman's sight. He hadn't the slightest idea who this Jonathan was -- from the way his uncles were talking, he might very well have been one of the ghosts roaming around -- and he wasn't sure he was that interested in finding out.
Still, Hitoshi didn't seem that worried, and this woman seemed to be more of an immediate threat than any ghost. It wasn't as though she could actually punish them...but she could yell at them, at very least, and might get his uncle angry enough that he didn't want to make french toast any more.

Alex stood up a little straighter and looked Paula in the eye with a cool gaze.
"These are our nephews, Xander and Aisling. They've just arrived late last night, and given it's still several days before the semester actually starts, we were planning on a tour and a celebration." He smiled broadly. "Perhaps this afternoon, if Tristan is still indisposed, you can spend an hour or two showing them around the Hunter facilities and explaining what it is you do here, the... elimination of magical threats and so on. It would be a fine educational opportunity."

Paula almost, almost smiled. "Certainly. I love teenagers. And spending time with them. Particularly if they're going to be taking my classes. You know how much I care about the next generation of hunters. Maybe, if they're good this time, we won't have incidents like twenty-five years ago. Or twelve years ago." She shifted in her seat.
"There was something else..." She thought for a minute, sipping at her coffee. "Oh, right. The Caldwell boy's mother called me last night. Something about death threats against her son. Anyway, she wants us to let him come early, so he won't be arriving at the same time as many of the students. Their parents might not be... pleased that he's here. Better than him arriving late, anyway, and missing all the fun of the Opening Ceremonies. I told her I'd talk to the Headmaster."

Hitoshi raised his eyebrow, glancing between them. "The 'incidents of twenty-five years ago' had nothing to do with the quality of our hunters," he replied icily. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't insinuate such things."
Hitoshi narrowed his eyes. "He's welcome to come whenever he wishes, as is any other student. I will deal with his other problems as they become relevant. Forgive me for not remembering every tragedy-ridden sob story that's tossed in front of me, but why exactly would the parents take issue with him?"

Paula sighed. "I was referring to the quality of hunters in general. It's early and I'm still tired. But twenty-five years ago, the hunters of the world seemed strangely absent when I could have used some help."
She shifted at the next comment and actually did crack a small smile. "I don't remember every sob story either, and as out-of-proportion as this is probably being blown, I probably wouldn't care. Except that he's the grandson of the Woman in White. You remember her, right? Scary lady that decided to use the school as an emotional punching bag. Oh, and I think she may have killed some people. Maybe. Other than that, I can't see any reason why her descendents would have any problems here."

Alex shrugged. "We let the fae-children in, so I don't see the problem."
He looked behind him to Xander and Aisling and winked. "Why don't we head on to the kitchens, hm, and our esteemed chef can catch up later, after he's done trading war stories with our resident old soldier." He began to leave the room, beckoning for them to follow.

Ian had been silent through this entire exchange, simply because he had no desire to relive any of his experiences with the Woman in White. Twenty-five years was a long time, but not long enough for some things to heal.
"I would like to meet this kid of Korlian's, personally." He said idly, ignoring the glare that it brought on from Paula. "Fae-children are always interesting people."
