Zephyros unlocked the door, tossed the keys on the dresser, and looked around. Shit, only two beds. Zephyros was sleeping on the floor. He dumped his things in a corner and flipped on the TV. It happened to be on a news channel, and while Zeph hunted for the remote he overheard something interesting. Freezing, he listened closer and grinned.
Pulling out his phone, he quickly found and dialed Aritha’s number. She answered with a surprised note in her voice. “Zeph? Why are you calling me from the same hotel?”
”I don’t know what room you’re in and I’m being lazy. Didja know your caravan’s in town?” he grinned mischievously, almost certain that she didn’t. Her squeal, which nearly blew out his ear drum, confirmed his suspicions.
“No, I didn’t. Papa’s letter had reached me yet. Are you going?”
Zeph shrugged, ignoring the fact that Aritha couldn’t see him and not particularly caring. ”Dunno yet. I’ll probably ask, but depends on if Miss Ellie will let me go. If I can, I will though.”
“Alright then. I’ll see if Professor Mervielle-Dion will let me go, and if you can go, we can go together! Oh, hang on… how did you know?”
Zephyros nodded. Spending some time with Aritha (and NOT his brothers) sounded like a lovely idea to him. ”Sounds good. See you in a bit then, Lady White,” Zeph answered, then paused at her question. “Oh, right. They just got in yesterday, they were on the news when I flipped it on. Anyway, my goal is to avoid my brothers as much as possible so… yeah, I’ll do my best to go with you. Talk to you later, Aritha.” He hung up and looked around the room again.
In such a small space, he was definitely going to have to try to avoid his brothers as much as possible. Otherwise they would either kill each other… or bring the city to its knees in unseasonable storms. Which would mostly be his own fault. Shaking his head, Zeph kicked his stuff further into a corner, and left, locking the door behind him and tossing them to the first brother he passed. It was late, he needed breakfast.
