Yuki carefully opened the band room door and peered inside. Ever since Chris had caught him playing that one faithful day, he had become even more cautious about his practice time. Seeing that no one was there, Yuki sighed happily and quickly entered.
He set up his boom box, sheet music and got out Aame, his acoustic violin. It was time to get to work.
He began to play softly and quietly, amplifying certain parts with his magic, trying to control it a little better. He was concentraiting so much on his power his hand slipped and the violin made a sharp SQUEEEEAAAAK!!!
Yuki squinted his eyes and removed Aame from his shoulder. "owww," he muttered as he shook his head in an attempt to stop his ears from ringing.

Roien was quietly walking around the hallways of Dunehelden trying to get her bearings when a sharp sound pierced her senses. Her blond head slowly turned down the hallway towards the sound. Her pink lips slowly pursed a little bit.
She walked towards the sound, out of pure curiosity. Who would be awake at this time of day? She glanced at the clock on the wall: 5:30 AM.
Roien stood at the mouth of the hallway in front of two sets of double doors, the music rooms perhaps? She stood quietly and waited to see if the strange sound would repeat itself.

Yuki finally managed to make his ears stop that awful ringing. GAH! Okay, now focus on the playing AND the power. Jeezz this was hard!
He closed his eyes and began to play again. Once again, it was soft and smooth.

Roien followed the sound of the soothing violin until it lead her to one of the double doors. She turned on her heel to face the door and quietly opened it. She saw the skinny Asian boy playing the violin. He was quite good. . . But was he good enough? Roien continued to watch, very interested. She might have just found her new playmate.

Yuki began to sway as he got more into the music. He gently chewed on his lip as he lost himself. He allowed the music to control his movements. He moonwalked around the room and then the music changed.
He upped the tempo and made the pitch a little higher. He bent at his waist and began to play moving his torso around in a circle. Then he leaned hard to the right into his violin, playing with every ounce of passion.

Roien's eyes widdened slightly. He was good, better than good. He was excelent. The right corner of her mouth barely twitched upwards. "Found you," she thought to herself.
She glanced around the room untill they landed on the grand piano on the right wall. So they could play together. If only he would play something she knew. Roien had never heard the song the boy was playing before, did he perhaps write it his self. Roien was very pleased.

Yuki stopped playing for a moment. The song he had just played wasn't done, but for the life of him he couldn't figure out an ending. His lips curled into a smile. The song reminded him of Chris, though. She liked fast paced music, from what she had exposed him to anyway.
Yuki shook his head to clear it. Now was not the time to be day dreaming. He needed to work and he closed his eyes yet again. He returned his bow to Aame and began to play one of his favorite Vivaldi pieces.

Roien straightened her self slightly as the first few notes were played. It was Vivali, his "Summer" song she believed from his "Four Seasons". She knew that song well.
Being as quiet as possible not to disturb the boy, she entered the room and delicatly walked over to the piano. Her feet were careful to not make a sound. Once at the piano, she sat on the old wooden stool. She straightened her shoulders and rested her fingers barely above the keys.
Without missing a beat she began to play the song along side the boy's violin. Roien closed her eyes so she could just listen to the two instruments and smiled.

As soon as Yuki began to play the old piece he could hear the rest of the orchestra playing with him quietly in his head. Then around the 10th measure, the piano became louder and more pronounced.
Yuki's shoulders stiffened. He didn't have that great of an imagination. . . so that might mean . . . Yuki snapped out of his trance as his eyes flashed open. He quickly glanced around the room untill his grey eyes landed on a pale blond girl sitting at the piano.
He froze and stopped playing all together. "AGAIN??!" was the only non curse word that entered Yuki's mind. Did his stealth skills suck that much?!! He stood there staring at the girl in a mixture of shock and horror.

Roien opened her sapphire blue eyes and continued to play a little softer. She finally stopped at the end of the measure and turned to look at the boy. Her eyes bore into him.
Why did he stop playing? She pondered as she tilted her head slightly to the right. Did he not like the way she played?

As soon as the girls eyes landed on him, Yuki bolted. He gathered his things together as quickly as possible and ran towards the door. The almost tripped on the way there but at least he made it out with everything . . . or so he hoped was everything.
Why did this kind of stuff happen to him all of a sudden??!!

Roien continued to sit on the piano bench as the boy gathered his things and ran rather hastily towards the door. She leaned back on the bench a little so she could follow him with her gaze.
She noticed that the boy had dropped something on his way out. She stood to investigate. It was a composition note book, the cover was made of papper and it almost fell off when she lifted it with her delicate hands. It looked old or at least well used.
Roien looked out the door that the boy had run out of. He was gone and no where in sight. Her eyes narrowed slightly. She did not enjoy her play things running away from her. This would have to change. Surely he would come back for this notebook, and when he did she would be waiting.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Yuki attempted to ninja down the hallway. It had been exactly two days since he had seen the strange blond girl playing the piano . . . and lost his oldest composition book. He had been kicking his self for that one ever since. He had returned to the bandroom at his lunch break to find the book gone. The only conclusion he could come to was that the SHE must have taken it. . . only he couldn't figure out who this "SHE" was.
This was the first time he'd been to the band room since that day. He didn't want to risk seeing her again . . .but he did want his notebook back . . . REALLY EFFING BADLY! So . . . he was kind of stuck. He sat outside the band room, this time carrying only Aame and his boombox (less to grab if he needed to make another run for it), contemplating if he should try to practice again. He had gotten up earlier than usual, 5 AM. Surely no one would be up, right?
He took in a slow calming breath and peered around the door.

Roien had been hanging around the band room for the past two days, waiting for the boy to return. She had, of course, needed to get into her dorm when it was REALLY bright outside. So she had been around the band room from around 6PM to 9AM, waiting for him.
This day was no exception. She sat herself at the piano and placed the composition book the boy had dropped on the music rest. She had been reading and playing some of the music written in it. The music was good, but she didn't recognize it from anywhere. She had assumed that the boy had written it his self. This just made her even more impressed. She really wanted to play with him again.

Yuki facepalmed. She was there alright. Now what was he going to do?
Then he heard HIS music. She had found his piano section and was playing one of his compositions. On a strange impulse, Yuki dashed into the room. . . and then stood there. Crap, NOW what was he going to do?! He couldn't just snatch the book away.

Roien looked up at the boy as he entered and stopped playing. He looked quite frazzled and . . . "nerdy" she did believe was the propper term. She staired at the boy with her startling blue eyes.

Yuki was begining to get very nervous. The blank constant stare of the blue eyed girl did NOT help. He was even more frustrated because he got this kind of thing from one of his "mothers" all the time, he should be used to it by now.
". . .h-hello . . ." he managed to choke out. He just stared back at her . . . this might be getting awkward.

Roien tilted her head down slightly and then up again in a slight nod in her own form of greeting. Her eyes still remained locked on the boy's eyes.
She reached up and closed the notebook and placed it on the piano bench next to her. Underneath was a piece of lined composition papper. Roien had been trying her hand at composing in the past couple of days and had been not doing as well.
She took in a deep breath and began to play the 4 measures she had written. It sounded low and flowing similar to a stream.

Yuki stepped forward a little when he saw her place his note book by her side and stopped again when she started playing. He lowered his eyes to the ground to focus on the music itself. He always did this when ever he listened to anyone's work (including his own when it was recorded), he couldn't help but critique.
When she had finished the four measures, Yuki walked to the bench and looked over at the papper. She'd played it correctly but something was missing about it. The sound was similar to flowing water, but that's all it was. There was no current or ebb and flow, just a piture of water being poured into a glass. No development.
"You're a good player," he said quietly, "but the composition is flat. Music needs to go somewhere. It needs to tell a story."

The corner of her mouth twitched upward slightly at the complement and her eyes focused at his critisism. This was her frist try ever, so she knew it wasn't going to be anywhere near perfect. She took his words into consideration and returned her fingers to the keys.
She emphasized the first beat and allowed it to hang while she played the other notes by pressing on the damper pedal. She played the following notes faster in an up and down flow.

Yuki lowered his eyes to focus on the piano keys. This time the music lead his mind to think of rain dripping from the grey sky onto the leaves of the plants underneath. The corners of his lips curled up into a small smile. "That's much better," he whispered. He had always liked the rain, and playing during a thunderstorm was more energising than was probably healthy.
Once she had finished he looked down at her. "Very good," he said. Then his mind snapped out of music land. "Oh, how rude of me," he said holding out his hand shakily, "Um . . . I-I'm Yuki."

Roien nodded a little more firmly than before. She knew the boy's name already. It had been written on every page of his compositions. He was obviously very protective of his music.
She picked up Yuki's notebook, opened it, and tapped a light blue finger nail on the first page where it had Yuki's signature on it. Her sapphire eyes stared at him from over top the book.

Yuki's cheeks turned a light shade of pink. Of course, if she'd read the music, she'd obviously see his name. He opened his mouth to speak . . . and then closed it again. After realizing that the girl was not going to take his hand, he quickly retracted it and rubbed the back of his neck. This girl was oddly cute, the way she looked at him now reminded him a little of his other "mother", Natsu . . . only a little bit.
"A-and who are you," Yuki managed to choke out.

Roien retuned the book to it's temporary place by her side on the bench and pointed to the top of the piece of composition papper. She flipped her blond bangs out of her face to get a better look at him.
He was pretty for a boy of about her age. But there was something else about him. She couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Yuki looked onto the parchment where the girl pointed. "Roien Lerwick" was written in the upper right hand corner in a flowing and curvy script. "Well," Yuki said nervously, "It's nice to meet you, Roien . . . I-i guess."
