The 2010 Prom will be held somewhere in Japan, and I do believe Breanna's given Sapphire the job of being staff planner for the prom committee- and I know we're going over ideas.
So, here are some of mine. It's not an extensive list, but please comment on them~.
1) Black and White Ball. A huge balcony set out under the starry sky sets the stage for this option, with black and white decorations, requirements for color-coded dress (color-changing bracelets available at the door), lots of black and white food. This is the fanciest option, with a few organized ballroom dances, setups for party games, and mostly classical music.
If you want a little more excitement or romance, sign up for one of our enchanted carriages and take a tour over the skies of [insert city we're borrowing here].
2) Similarly, a Chocolate and Vanilla Ball. A looser dress code matches a somewhat 50s theme, including an authentic drugstore counter serving (among other things) chocolate and vanilla malts. There's also likely to be a seperate skating rink, a rock and roll band, magical candies and party favors, and if I can get approval, a chocolate pudding dunk tank.
This one's been thought out a little less, but that means more input from you folks if you want to use it.
3) Dreams Within Dreams. This concept pulls in our theatre department's equipment for illusions and lighting effects to create a prom the likes of which are unlikely to be seen again- or more than thirty minutes at a time, for that matter. Enjoy various illusionary dancefloors, from the deck of a cruise ship to the deck of a starship, from the palace of Versailles to the night sky above Victorian London. Illusionary costumes and people will complete your scene, including a few personal surprises for some of our graduating seniors and their dates.
Grab a few friends and tour the mazes, pop into a 3D movie room when you get tired of dancing, or just enjoy the refreshments- for safety's sake, those which are precisely as they seem will be marked. Nota bene: the chaperones can see just fine, no matter where you think you are.
4) A Night At The Fair. A giant carousel/rotating dancefloor is the centerpiece of this theme, but don't forget the always-romantic Ferris Wheel, cotton candy and hot dogs, a fireworks exhibition, games for you to win prizes for your lady-and-or-gentleman love, a hall of mirrors, and of course, the rides.
Lots of rides, including- yes- an actual rollercoaster. Don't ask how. One night's free reign over the place, for the one-time low low price of free!
