Player's Name: Smoke
Name: Angel, Sydney Kapur, Angel of Venom and Ash, Forgotten One, Nagarajah, Ananta-Sesha...
Age: Angel is 19, and was full-grown when humans were still learning how to build permanent shelters.
Grade: University Freshman
Birthday: June 24th
Height: 5'7"
Weight: Skinny.
Gender: Male.
Appearance: Angel usually appears as a young, reasonably attractive Indian teenager. His hair is dyed violet and kept in a thin ponytail down to about midback, his eyes are brown, and he usually dresses in dark colors, including a favorite black hoodie he wears at all possible opportunities and in all possible weather.
Personality: Arrogant, fearless. Whatever happens, he refuses to be cowed, and even when something manages to disturb his confidence, he bounces back. Angel is actually a pretty decent guy and usually acts human, especially when Frog's not around, but there's always something a little predatory about him.
Tends not to hold grudges against his actual enemies, and is usually willing to let live. Loathes people who treat him badly or talk down to him when he's trying to be nice, and still holds multiple millenia-old frothing grudges over the betrayal of friends.
History: (Or at least, what he remembers of it, how he remembers it.)
He was great, wise, whole, and his coils could encircle the moon. When the great war happened and the Second Cataclysm arrived, he fought and he lost, though rivers were carved in the land with the blood of his enemies, and he was bound along with the rest of the Fae tribes. In his rage and despair, and as one of the greatest of the fallen, he was bound into sleep, becoming the Forgotten One.
Many, many years later, he was summoned by a very powerful mage as part of a ritual of vengeance; though his bindings were too weak to hold him, his long sleep had cooled his blood, and he listened in sympathy. The Unleashing of the Nagarajah is today told as half-history and half-legend in mage circles: a number of mages killed silently in their sleep; then stories of open fighting with a huge snake-creature whose colorful scales shone like the sun; ending with the bloody slaughter of several entire families, some magical, some simply in the way, until the arrival of a hero, a young boy...
The great soot-black snake allowed himself to be bound once again, hunting aside another in the shade of the Undying Lands, carving his own realm from the darker portions of the Unclaimed, until his rage had cooled and his despair had become a memory.
And then Sydney Kapur was born...
For Fae
Fae-type: Naga (/Redcap)
Powers: Angel has dominion over shadow, predation, and secret wisdom.
Without exerting his power, he's capable of impressive supernatural feats of athleticism and stealth, can manipulate glamour and shadow into a number of illusions, disguises, and charms of moderate power, and is a powerful fighter.
When he does exert his power to its fullest extent, he becomes a giant snakeman; his fangs can snap steel, his venom can melt light and create shadowy servants, his eyes can enchant, and his coils can bind with immense strength. In addition, his powers of stealth and glamour increase substantially.
(Yes, Angel is pretty butch. As a semi-NPC and potential antagonist, this should not be construed to reflect the power level of a normal fae student, even if the general format is correct.
The second powerblock will only be used if we ever get around to making him an antagonist. Otherwise, he's got the first block, which should round out to being as powerful as your average teacher.)
Weaknesses: Must defend what belongs to him. Must hunt when prey shows itself. Must not take measures to reveal himself truly or knowledge that he guards. Must not shed blood that he does not first taste. May not harm those who come to him under the auspice of the moon.
By the terms of surrender: must not hide to those with true sight, unless by omission; must repay betrayal in kind; may not die (violated, several times).
Like all fae oaths, some of these are stricter than they look, and others much more loose.
