((cont'd from Waking Up, cont'd.))
The sick bay was nearly full with the addition of so many bodies. Ellie's first stop was the storage closet, from which she produced a knee-length robe for Diana and the necessary supplies to fix up Vincent-- Ellie wasn't going to even try using her magic at the moment. There was very little that could go right from that.
"Sit down please, Vincent," she said to the man, offering him her desk chair. She set about with fresh gauze and antiseptic to clean the cuts as she waited for the Headmistress to speak.

Vincent gratefully dropped Conall's body unceremoniously onto the floor, kicking his legs clear of the infirmary doorway. He seated himself in Ellie's chair and sat still, hands folded in his lap, face upturned to give Ellie access to the cuts on his cheek. The longest one had narrowly missed his left eye. His gaze slid over to the Headmistress, and he wondered when or if she would say anything to them here.

Veronique stepped gracefully over the body on the floor, hopping up onto the desk and crossing her legs, glancing out over the crowd. She raised an eyebrow. "We've had a busy day today, haven't we, Doctor?" she mused dryly.
"Well, I suppose the first question is what to do with the body," she continued crisply. "We could send it back from whence it came, of course, though that would be a great deal more effort than he is worth. We could bury him, we could burn him, or we could simply toss his decaying carcass into the woods for the Fair Ones to do as they please with it. Any suggestions?" She glanced up at the other staff members.

"I'm all for burning the thing, personally," Vincent spoke up. "The question is where--and if outdoors, how to contain the fire so it doesn't spread and become a danger to us. Burying it or tossing it to the Fae would be far easier."

Burying him might be easier, Diana suggested. We could bury him outside the wall, where he's out of our way, but the Fair Folk won't be able to get at him. Though what they could want him for is beyond me.

Veronique pursed her lips, staring at the corpse. "I suppose burying him would be acceptable. Would one of you like to volunteer for the honors?"
She smoothed her robe against her leg, considering something silently. Part of her -- an admittedly large part -- wanted to keep as much of this quiet as possible, tell the students nothing where she could avoid it, and move on from this turbulence without backward glance. However, there were too many witnesses to easily sweep this aside, and she was not altogether convinced the matter was resolved. The students would have to be told something, and they would have to be told something that was essentially true, if nothing else.

"I can get started on that as soon as possible," Vincent volunteered. "Tonight, perhaps. We don't want a body lying around the school for too long; people would notice something's amiss and get suspicious, not to mention that it will start to smell sooner or later."

Veronique nodded to him. "Very well, you may do that as soon as this is over." Her eyes swept over the students in the infirmary. "We should attempt to get some amount of sleep. I'll speak with the ones who were present for the event tomorrow and see how much they know. Afterward, we should meet and discuss what to tell the students."
She stood up, straightening her robes as best she could. "I will contact the Athenaeum and alert them tonight, and when we are ready to discuss this, I will make an announcement. Is there anything else you wish to discuss with me tonight?"
