Natalie settled into a seat in the nearly-deserted mess hall. Only a few students were still hanging around from lunch crowd, huddled in small clusters all around the room. Natalie could join one of them, but she didn't really feel like it. It wasn't like this was a daily occurrence, having a late lunch - she loved to eat - but she had lost herself in her practicing and by the time she realized what time it was, lunch was almost over. So she had rushed down and managed to make it just in time to eat.
It had been a boring day so far... Natalie hoped that trend would continue. She didn't really like excitement...

There was a stir at one of the groups and a surprisingly dark-skinned vampire pulled away with a sharp retort. She slapped one of the young men she had been talking to and stalked away, her long hair flowing behind her in her speed. She noticed Natalie and waved a little, her face clearing as she came over.
"Get caught up in something?" she asked, her voice still a bit tight with anger. She glared at the student that she had slapped.

Natalie smiled as the dark-skinned vampire approached. "Oh, hey, Aritha. I was practicing the violin again, and I lost track of time. It happens." She gestured in the direction of the boy Aritha had slapped. "Who was that, and do I need to beat his ass?"

"A pig, and I took care of it," she said primly, sitting next to her and flickering her hair out of the way before she sat on it. There was red streaks in her nearly pure white hair today, a sign that she generally feeling more passionate... tempermental, really. "You really should learn some of the music I gave you. Then I could have proper music to dance to!"

"I'm trying." Natalie sighed and took a bite of her food. "I don't think you're aware how hard that music is... but for you, Ari, I'll do my best." She cast an evil glare at the boy Aritha had slapped again. "That's the one good thing about being related to the Hawks... nobody tries to pull anything with me." She muttered, knowing that Aritha could hear, but saying it anyway.

Aritha shrugged, grinning. "Yeah well... if he thinks he has a chance..." she chuckled, "I KNOW what a real man is, and that he is not. I have seen more of his kind than he knows people. And blinded them all."
She chortled, her anger obviously completely gone. She pulled a few strands over her shoulder and started braiding it. Her bangles created a soft counter harmony to the bells at the end of another braid.

Natalie laughed. "Well... he'll learn eventually." She took a sip of her drink. "So what are you doing later this evening?"

"Nothing important," she smiled. "I think I've lost interest in boywatching, and my mage friend seems busy today." She looked around, tying off the braid. "Seeing as he is not here."

"I'm trying to get a few people together tonight. Dunno what we'll do, just feel like hanging out with a group." Natalie tilted her head to one side and let her red hair drop onto her shoulder. "Which mage friend are you talking about?"

"A certain gorgeous blond," she giggled. "He eats lunch late and dinner early."
She rolled her eyes, "And he's not interested in anyone. Though the look on his face seems to tell me that he finally has his eyes on someone..." She grinned at him, "And he grew up around where I did. Tell you who he is yet? Or do you need another clue?"

Natalie searched her brain, but couldn't figure out who Aritha was talking about. "I must be having brain troubles again... I have no idea who you're talking about." She smiled at her friend. "Sorry." Then it dawned on her. "Wait... you aren't talking about Zeph, are you?"

"None other," she giggled. "I met him a few times when my caravan went through cities he was going to school in, a different one each time. He likes to watch me dance, and will dance with me sometimes. He can make the most fascinating music with the grasses and trees in the wind. It's really amazing. I never learned about that until after finding him here though.
"What were you planning?" she asked. "I mean, which friends and where? I don't have any homework."

Natalie shrugged. "I just thought I'd get a bunch of people together... you, me, Du, Seele, all those people. Figured we'd find something fun to do... randomness equals fun, after all." She laughed and winked at Ari. "And speaking of blonde mages, I hear there's a new guy running around causing trouble. Put some young mage in the sick bay? Am I hearing this correctly?"

"Oh... I know which one you are talking about. Don't know his name, but it was Aramis who ended up in the sickbay. Nothing magical, but apparently something the new student said really hit him hard. He wasn't there for long," she shrugged. "I think it serves Aramis right. He uses his magic all the time out in the open. Quiet, but still rather flamboyant."
She shrugged then, returning to their previous conversation. "Sounds fun, I'm in. Just say where."

"Oh." Natalie said. The story she had heard made it sound like the new boy had gotten into a fight with Aramis. Like a fistfight. Oh, well. It still made for a pretty good story. She wondered what had been said that put Aramis in the sick bay. But then she turned her mind to other matters. "I was thinking the student lounge. After dinner. Sound good to you?"

"Great. Maybe I'll drag Zeph and his new friend in, if I can..." her tone said it was both asking permission and doubting she would be able to do it. Her fingers drummed on the table, thinking. Already she was picking out a few outfits to try on for the night, and deciding on how to do her hair. The scarf she was using as a headband wouldn't work... maybe something a bit more elaborate. She had plenty of beads and bells she wasn't using, and a few ribbons. She smiled a little, thinking of how much fun it was to sneak up on someone while all belled-up. And in the lounge she could skip the shoes.
