Aramis woke slowly in the sickbay, his eyes staring blankly at the ceiling. Every breath he took was a burning agony in his chest... on the left side. He tried to push himself up and fell back limply, gasping slightly. Looking at his arm, his breath caught in his throat and he choked, coughing.
His shoulder was bandaged.... what he could see under it, across his chest and down his arm, was an odd purpling bruise that seemed to be forming like vines across his chest and toward his hand. He tried to close his hand and gasped in pain again. The fingers didn't so much as twitch. Stubbornly, he tried again and nearly blacked out. There was still no movement, and no pain in his shoulder or arm at all. Just his chest, like his lung was affected.
Thinking hard, he could remember the wards feeling odd and finding Hitomi and Peace... after that things started getting fuzzy. He remembered moving to attack someone and... Oh. He'd been intelligent and gotten himself STABBED. By... some Fae knife.
He winced. What kind of freaky... poison was in his system? And how on earth was he still alive?

It had not taken very long for Jonathan to realize that he wasn't going to make it very far without medical attention. At least a jolt of healing magic to ease the pain. Jonathan didn't know what was wrong with him, but whatever those creatures had done, it had fucked him up pretty bad. So he had gone to the sick bay to try to find that woman - whatever her name was - and get healed.
To his surprise when he walked through the door, there was no one in the sick bay except the healer boy, Aramis. Jonathan paused for a moment, confused. "Where the hell is that healing lady?" He demanded. "Don't tell me she's gone and vanished again... oh, that'd be just lovely..."

Aramis raised his head slowly, gasping slightly in pain. His head fell back. "I don't know. She was in the auditorium last night... And the doors were blocked. She should..."
His voice failed and he closed his eyes, breathing carefully. "She should be here soon... Lots... lots of students... were injured last night."
Slowly opening his eyes again, Aramis just looked up at the ceiling. Testing his magic, he flexed his right hand a little. "Come here, Jonathan. There's nothing I can do about my own wound, but maybe I can help you..."

Jonathan stayed exactly where he was, fixing Aramis with an emotionless look. "I'll wait for the professional, thanks." He grumbled, and then went to sit down on a nearby cot.
"The sooner I get out of here, the better..." He said out loud, neither to himself nor Aramis. "I don't like this place and I got more important shit to do."

Aramis just closed his eyes, "Suit yourself. She's likely to be a while."
He wished Jonathan had taken him up on his offer. Then he could be alone to figure out what was going on with himself. He tried to sit up again and gasped, clutching at his shoulder in agony. Tears slid down his face, soaking his hair as he just shook. Blinking, he raised his head to look at his shoulder and chest again. The bruise was spreading... His jaw clenched at how quickly it was spreading. Letting his head fall back, he closed his eyes and focused on pushing it back.

Jonathan tried to ignore the boy's shaking, but it was hard. Finally, he let out an exasperated sigh and turned to face Aramis. "You know, if you just stop moving, it won't hurt so bad and you can stop squirming like someone who's had his ass burned with a fire poker."

"When you figure out a way to breathe with only one lung while not using the other, I'll be glad to do that," Aramis snarled in reply, coughing. "Or how to slow Fae poison. I can't feel my left arm at all, and I can fix whatever the hell is wrong with you with my eyes closed and passed out. So either let me heal you, or you can go look for Miss Ellie yourself. The woman is probably pretty over-worked right now, and the fact that you can walk and aren't bleeding means your complaint is pretty pathetic compared to some."

Jonathan didn't know what Aramis' problem was, and he didn't particularly care. Irritated, he stood and crossed the room, stopping right as soon as he was towering over Aramis.
"Fine." He growled. "Make the pain go away, and I'll go away. Then you can go back to self-medicating or whatever you were doing before I got here."

Aramis touched him lightly, his fingers just brushing Jonathan's solar plexus at the awkward angle. Closing his eyes, he let his magic search out every injury on and in Jonathan's body. The boy had been beaten pretty badly... It took only a moment to ease the pain Jonathan was feeling, and even repair a little of the damage he'd been suffering from. Aramis didn't push himself, though... he already had his own injury to worry about.
"There. That should do it."

Jonathan lifted his arms and shook them a little. No pain. He took a few steps away from Aramis. Sure enough, the pain was gone. He turned back to face the boy, looking him up and down.
"Well, thanks for that, even if you only did it to make me leave." He said idly. "I'll be going now. I have things to do." Without waiting for Aramis to respond, Jonathan turned and headed out the door.

Aramis sighed, speaking to himself, "I only wanted you to leave because you were so nasty when you came in. I don't like being alone any more than anyone else..."
He closed his eyes, focusing on the pain in his own body. What he'd done for Jonathan hadn't affected him much, thankfully, but the agony he felt was all his own. A soft sob escaped him as he tried to push the pain away.

Dunehelden was a very nice place to be if one wanted to avoid being seen, Ian decided. He had been walking by the sick bay when Jonathan had burst out. Ian had been forced to duck into a nearby classroom to avoid another beating like the one he had endured in the Auditorium, as Jonathan had made it very clear he did not want to see Ian for a while. As soon as Jonathan had passed, Ian had decided to go into the sick bay and see if Jonathan had left any trail of destruction behind.
He didn't find a trail of destruction, but what he did find was Aramis. The younger mage was lying in one of the cots, looking as though he was about to bawl his eyes out. Cautiously, Ian approached him. "Aramis?" He asked hesitantly. "Are you doing okay?"

Carmen walked in brushing long white strands of hair from his face, he raised an eyebrow at Ian. He gestured towards the door with his thumb.
"Hey I need personal time with the small woodland creature on the bed over there, got it?" He said not really bother to look an anyone in particular. He rested his other hand on the hilt of his sword.

Aramis looked up in surprise, distracted from his focus. "Carmen! Hi..."
He managed a wavering smile, though the moment he'd stopped fighting the pain in his shoulder, tears had begun to fill his eyes. Blinking rapidly, he turned his attention on his magic again, though not as thoroughly as before. "I hope you aren't hurt too..."

Carmen raised an eyebrow. "Like that Fae trash stood a chance? The only blood is on my sword and not mine to worry about."
He sighed as he came closer pushing past Ian, who was not a remote concern. "What the hell did you get your shoulder messed up for? You're supposed to hurt them not the other way around." He said softly, shaking his head.

"I didn't mean to... I don't even really remember what happened... I think I slipped or something and they surprised me... I took a few of them down, I think..." he put a hand lightly to the wound. "I think a pure iron weapon would have done more good. I can recall hearing or reading something about Fae and iron not mixing..."
Aramis sighed heavily, looking away. He tried to shift and gasped weakly. Blinking, he raised his right hand to wipe away the tears that rose to his eyes. He tried to smile again, "I don't even know what they did to me, Carmen..."

"Decided they didn't like your shoulder apparently. So what are you going to do Ara? Sit here and cry? Give in to the fact that you will forever be a cripple and that's the end, woe is you? I have more respect for you then that, you should too." He sat on the edge of the bed waiting for Ara.

"I can't sit up," he said softly, "I've tried. I can barely breathe... Every time I try to sit up, this gets worse."
Aramis pointed at the odd spreading purple vines in his chest and arm. He dried his face again, blinking rapidly. Licking his lips, he looked over at Carmen. "Could you help me sit up, please? I think it might be easier to breathe if I'm sitting up."

Ian had stood stock-still for a long time, trying to process what was happening. However, once he was very sure that Aramis was alright, he was more than happy to turn around and go. Ian was very used to being kicked out of places, so being told to buzz off didn't really bother him as much as it would anybody else.
He turned and headed out of the sick bay without a word, his mind already a few steps ahead. What he needed to do was start on his research project from Jonathan, to go to the library and get away from everyone for a while. Even Natalie. As far as Ian knew, everyone he cared about was alright, and so now he could vanish guilt-free into the darkness of the library and not come out for a good long time...

Carmen sighed and carefully lifted Ara to a sitting position.
"I'm not even a healer like you and I know you need to do something to get that poison out." He said looking searchingly at Aramis wondering why he hadn't tried yet.

"I can't do it by myself... I can barely keep it from spreading," he sighed, gesturing at the odd veining on his chest and arm. "And I can't even stand to find Miss Ellie. I'm fighting just to keep breathing, and keep this poison from affecting more than my left shoulder..."
He sighed again, looking at his hand. His face twisted as he attempted to close his hand, but again it didn't even twitch. Gasping, he let his head fall back for a moment.
"Ahh," he breathed, closing his eyes tightly. "I can't feel anything below the shoulder, but try to twitch so much as my finger, and it is worse than putting my hand in molten metal."
