Aramis knocked on Carmen's door quietly. He needed to talk with someone... someone he felt comfortable with. The silver-haired blacksmith was the only person he really trusted...
And he'd been in enough stress that he had to talk to someone. He couldn't really tell Ellie, now that she was back. And Carmen definitely knew all about what was really bothering Aramis. He'd probably had to help clean up after it.

Carmen, laying on his stomach in his bed, was alone in his dorm room at the moment. He was working a half-existent idea into his sketchbook. His concentration made the square gray and white 2D world in front of him the only existence.
Reaching the end of his pre-created idea his eyes glazed slightly as he passed from the realm of focus to distraction. Sub-consciously he rubbed his arms where his work in the forge was still evident. He ran a hand through his silver (though after several hours in the forge now dirty gray) hair. Who ever cleaned the sheets around here must passionate dislike for him he mused.
"Huh?!" He was plunged out of his wonderings by the knock on the door. He stared at it a moment before slowly pushing himself up off the bed and crossing the room.
He opened the door to Aramis. And part of him was very surprised that another part of him had known exactly who it was.

Aramis gave Carmen a hesitant smile, letting it fade immediately as he felt it tremble with his distress. He looked at his friend. Carmen was a mess... and it looked like he had a few new burns. What he had wanted to talk about was completely driven out of his mind as he reached for the burns. "Carmen, you hurt yourself..."
He walked past Carmen, making his friend take a seat as he looked closely at the burns. Grabbing a washcloth, he went into the bathroom and stopped, images of Zeph lying, cold and wet and bleeding in Jason's lap coming to his mind's eye and blinding him. He sank to his knees, trembling. Covering his face, he tried simultaneously not to throw up and not to start crying. He failed on the second point, tears pouring down his face. He gagged, but didn't retch. Somehow it almost seemed like he could still smell the blood covering the room...
Aramis whimpered a little, rocking in place as images of Ian lying badly beaten in a classroom, and Jason, his legs shattered, his pelvis broken, as well as Zeph again, ran through his mind over and over again. Other wounds, small bruises and scratches, a broken bone or two, illnesses he couldn't begin to help, all ran through his mind and his entire body shook more. He rocked more, his face still covered as he cried, sobbing quietly.

Carmen rolled his eyes as he was lead away, it was a first and a familiar pain in the ass all at the same time. All the same he let Aramis lead him in to the bathroom and fuss.
And then Aramis broke down.
And Carmen froze.
After a second he did all he could do and got down on his knees hugging Aramis as tightly as he could, there was nothing to say.

Aramis just shook, his eyes closed tightly. He didn't want to see the room anymore... rocking slightly, he whimpered a little. Tears continued burning his face. I didn't realize... The same room. It's the same room...
He turned a little, his eyes still tightly shut. "Th-th-thank you, C-carmen. I j-just need to get out of this room," he managed. He looked only at his friend's face once his eyes opened, refusing to look at the room that was bringing up such distressing memories. His hands closed tightly in fists, as he swore he could feel a faltering pulse in his palms. His vision seemed filled with red, swimming with tears. His fists clenched so tightly that blood welled up around his fingernails as he trembled.
I'm not going to break down again, I'm not, he told himself, over and over again in the hopes it would work and he wouldn't. Though wasn't that why he'd come to talk to Carmen anyway? It was just across the hall...
