Maybe who was still two, but if Aisling was embarrassed to talk about it, Xander would let it drop. He'd talk about it when he was ready.
Xander shrugged. It was hard to explain it to Aisling, since he didn't seem to think the way most people did. He looked at things differently, and Xander doubted his brother would understand things like small talk. He had a hard enough time with talking to his family.
"Just smile and be nice," he said gently. "Ask her about things she's interested in, or talk about school."

"I'd think it's the same basic principle," Xander replied. "And then once you're sort of friends, you could ask her out. And if she says no..." He shrugged. "Hopefully you can at least still be friends."

Aisling thought about that for a bit. He wasn't entirely sure he wanted to be friends with someone like that. On the other hand, he wasn't at all sure what it was he did want, so maybe it evened out. Or maybe he could just watch her. That sounded nice.
He took a breath. "Do you like any girls?"
