Drawn by Akherontis And finally, this is were you post you fanfiction. That is all the explanation you need, seriously. If you need more you're a dumbass. 1. Be respectful of everyone's stories and opinions 2. You need to give credit to the story and author you are doing this for. 3. If I or another admin tells you something is not appropriate please remove it 4. Links, you must post a link. Do not post a full fanfic here, you will be shanked. If you don't know how to get your fanfic online yet www.fanfiction.net . 5. If your friend or someone has a story you would like to show make sure you get their permission and make sure you give them the credit.

Lord of the Rings fanfiction, this is a joint account with my friend Ara. Basically it splits up this way. I wrote the first chapter of SilverGold, she wrote the second. She wrote Undesired Travels, and I wrote Gwanu. www.fanfiction.net/u/1456765/SilmeLaureI'll post my own account once I go through and finish correcting grammar an layout issues.

So are we defining original-character-fan-setting works as fanfiction or original fiction? Most of my writing is nWoD fic...

If it's NWoD, I'd call that original.

*squee* She posted our fics? I really need to get the next one up then...
And I don't see why OCs would make something non-fanfic... O.o; *can't be content with her canon character writings*

It's... fuzzy, which is why I asked. On the one hand, you are using your characters in someone else's setting; on the other hand, you're writing them in a setting explicitly made to be centered around the characters you create, and which has as its first rule "please toss out anything in canon you don't like or don't have the book for".
In nWoD, especially, this can essentially mean you're writing something you could make into original urban fantasy by changing a few proper nouns around. On the other hand, if you borrow heavily from things in the game line in your particular story, it could have as much canon content as fanfiction usually does.
I also admit I wasn't really thinking about what sort of fic I think you're implying anyway. Hmm. X3

*grin* We admit our fics are non-canon, but more heavily based than many I have read. I just don't like writing with canon characters because I never feel I can give them justice.

I'd say if it's a roleplaying game setting like World of Darkness or Dungeons and Dragons, because they're very open, I'd call it more or less original, but it's kind of difficult to say. As far as posting here, though, I don't care that much and as long as it's original characters you can post it wherever. Just if I see Legolas fanfiction in the original fiction thread I'm going to facepalm violently and ask you to move the post. =)

Reading through these reminded me that... *le gasp* I have a Legolas fic! It was MEANT to be a Thranduil fic but... yeah... Since Legolas is more 'mine' than Thranduil is... Anyway... Innocent Games ...And I'll post my Zeph fic here even though THAT one is so fuzzy on original or fanfic... well, it's posted on FF.N so... I'll call it fanfic. All This For Love
