Ozora looked around the mess hall and blinked in surprise. It was... empty. He checked his watch and blinked again. Apparently he was actually early, not too early to get food but only just. Shrugging, he twitched his shirt in place and fixed his hair so that the blue feather sat right by his face where it belonged.
The food was as imaginative as always, and he found himself just giving up and taking some chicken and fries, with a ton of ketchup. Finding a seat near the door, he sat and watched the door for anyone he wanted to talk to.
Pity he had to wear this stupid uniform... And didn't usually have the time to change between his last class and dinner. Late classes sucked hard... Flicking loose breading off his chicken sandwich, he finally started eating. Jaymie's vampire friend came by, giving him a wave and he barely recognized her in time to respond. He'd introduced them and yet he couldn't even remember her name... Oh well, she wasn't really all that interesting anyway.
Ozora sighed and kept working on his sandwich, though he was losing interest rapidly. Pity he couldn't go catch himself a pigeon or something... He flicked another crumb away and sighed as the mess hall filled up.

Jaymie waved to Aritha as she passed him by and ducked into the cafeteria. There'd been an exam in his last class, and as glad as he was that he'd gotten out of there, his stomach was in butterflies not knowing how he'd done. He rooted around until he found a plate of sushi, a tiny bowl of some kind of cucumber salad that looked good, and a significantly larger bowl of lime sorbet to settle his nerves.
As he walked out, sorbet-covered spoon in his mouth, he saw Ozora alone at a table.
"Mmh!" he said as he sat down across from the other boy, which was probably meant to be a greeting.

Ozora grinned at Jaymie, who was already eating before he'd even sat down. "How'd your test go? Feel pretty confident or is the sorbet supposed to fix that?"
He'd mostly finished his food, which hadn't really interested him anyway. Picking at the last of the fries, he finally shoved them aside. Cold fries really never did taste good. Propping his chin on one hand, he leaned the elbow on the table and looked around. Jaymie needed to eat, he'd eaten all he wanted... and there was barely anything to do. He drummed his fingers on the table rapidly, looking around the room with an eye toward something interesting. The vampire-girl seemed to be headed their way, which might not be too bad.
After all, Jaymie liked hanging out with her, and she DID enjoy making clothes. Ozora was a clotheshorse and knew it, and unfortunately did not have the money to really enjoy it. He flicked another crumb from the table and sighed, propping his other hand under his jaw. Wow it was a boring day today...

"This seat taken?" Aritha asked cheerfully, looking at Jaymie with a grin. The purple earrings Rudeth had gotten her had apparently influenced her outfit, as the scarf that held up her hair was almost exactly the same color, and her black baby tee had a purple and red butterfly across the front, the outspread wings taking up almost the entire front. Her hair also had a purple streak right above her right eye that was twisted in a braid down the side of her face.
She actually held a tray, with a small slice of chocolate cake. There wasn't much food Aritha would eat when she wasn't cooking, and chocolate in its many forms was the very top of the list. Though sometimes fruit ice creams and such, like the sorbet Jaymie was eating tickled her fancy too. "You boys look bored."

Jaymie removed the spoon and sighed. "I have no idea. I think I did okay? It went really fast, and that- that could be bad."
He leaned back to look at Aritha. "Hi. Ooh, nice shirt."

"Thanks," she beamed, sitting down. Picking up her fork, she took a bite of her cake.
"Made it myself, as a class project. It matches these," she said, tilting her head and putting a finger behind her earrings to push them forward. For some reason, she seemed exceedingly proud of them. She took another bite of her cake, sucking the chocolate off her fork carefully. "I should screen-print something for you."
She grinned brightly at him. It would take quite a bit to kill her mood, and she was more than willing to broadcast how cheerful she felt. Tapping her foot slightly, she heard her heel click on the tile in a pattern that was beginning to resolve itself into music. It had been a while since she had danced. Really danced. Maybe she needed to find some real music and actually dance. Maybe Zeph had something on CD or something like that.

Jaymie half-grinned. "You look like someone's just crowned you Queen of someplace- or like you've been spending time with your boyfriend. Which is it?"
He dug into his sorbet.

"Who says one is not the same as the other?" Aritha teased, eating her own desert. "If you can't tell, then I guess you really have been here too long already."
She flipped her hair over her shoulder, several small silver bells ringing with her movements. She hummed slightly, her fingers drumming on the tabletop in a specific beat. "I think I have a song stuck in my head... I haven't heard it in years."
Tilting her head to the side, she continued to hum slightly. "I bet you did great on your test by the way, Jaymie. Does anyone know someone who can learn music quickly? Even if it's sort of difficult? The season's wrong for me to steal Zeph and he doesn't use conventional instruments anyway."

Ozora glanced at her. "Nice. You really are on cloud nine. Who're you with again? The Volkova boy, right? Heard he was a bit of a flirt."
He flicked at another crumb, propping his chin on one hand. "Bored? I am. Bored to freaking tears. Anyone got any ideas of something to do? I don't even actually have any homework or anything. For once I'm all caught up in class."

"Music? Mmh, not really. Thanks, though." He doused his salad in ranch dressing and started eating it. Between the crunching, he replied to Ozora: "Still haven't convinced anyone to help me decorate the courtyard yet. I'd do it-" munch, crunch, crunch, swallow- "myself, but it's more fun with other people. Bet you I can wrangle something signed out of Professor Himmel to do just about whatever."

"Bet you it'll carry about as much weight as no signature at all," Aritha challenged back teasingly, grinning. She turned back to Ozora, raising a brow at the very bored young man.
Her head tilted slowly to the side as she looked at him, somewhat surprised at their physical similarities. Admittedly, Ozora's hair was white from bleach, but still... And he was very fond of color. "Yes, I am dating Rudy. Yes, I suppose I am in a good mood, and him being a flirt really doesn't bother me. You see, I am too and I know how harmless it usually is."

Ozora snorted. "Yeah, and how often is it anything but harmless? Bah, I might be bored but I'm not stupid enough to pick a fight with a vampire."
He turned away from her and sighed again. "I dunno, Jaymie, I might be up for some troublemaking. It's better than just sitting around like this."
