Aramis skidded to a stop outside the door to the sickbay, then brushed his hair out of his face. He'd heard what happened, mostly by listening to what was going on outside rather than what was inside his own class. The moment the class had been dismissed, he'd bolted out of the door.
That was about... he glanced at his watch... three minutes ago. Small wonder he was so out of breath. Taking a deep breath through his nose and let it out slowly, then peeked into the sickbay.

Kemekin, awake now, rubbed his eyes as his aunt gave him a final once-over. She had healed his headache, or whatever had been causing it. Sighing, the checkup done, he tousled his hair and swung his legs over the side of the cot. Facing the door now, he spotted Aramis and lifted his eyebrows.
"'Sup?" he asked his roommate.

Aramis quickly gathered his wits at seeing Keme up, stepping in fully with a bit of a shrug and a smile. "I heard you were in here and came to see if I still had a roommate," he said rather nonchalantly, shrugging.
His tousled hair, which he usually kept neat, and his still slightly heavy breathing gave the lie to his tone. He had obviously hurried, while his tone said that he hadn't.

One corner of Kemekin's lips quirked upwards. "Sorry," he said brightly, shrugging. "You've still got a loud-mouthed freshman to deal wi---" Aramis' words hit him then. "Wait, you heard I was in here?" He'd been woken up by the class bell-- the students hadn't been out for more than a few minutes.
Damn, news traveled fast.
"So what... ah, what did you hear, exactly?"

Aramis shrugged slightly. "Just that you were here. Nothing about what happened. The teacher grabbed my attention before I could eavesdrop the reason why, and he kept my attention for the last few minutes. I caught a glimpse of you being carried, but all I really saw was your clothing and your hair. After living with you most of a year, I think I can recognize you pretty well."
He let his book bag drop as he came over. "So what did happen?" he asked pointedly, one brow raising to perfectly match his tone. "Professor Yogo looked a little distressed, but that's about the only hint I've got."

Kemekin nodded.
"Yeah. About that..." Kemekin glanced over at his aunt, who was politely ignoring them. Or pretending to. Kemekin knew that Ellie would be listening to every single word he said now, even if she was making herself busy typing the incident into her log. "Wellp, it went down really fast. I didn't realize what was going to happen until after. I was sitting in Hoshi's class when Nina came into the room, walked right up to me and hit me-- I hate to admit it, but I'm pretty sure she put as much as she could into that punch." Kemekin paused, hearing Ellie's fingers faulter on the keyboard.
He added the rest to Aramis in a low voice, so that the Healer wouldn't hear. "Then she grabs my scalp and yanks me out of my seat to the floor, pushed my desk over on top of me, and stalks out. All without saying a word."
He brought his voice back to normal volume. "Then Hoshi got to me. I healed this--" he pointed to his face-- "but I think I'd cracked my head against the floor when I left my seat. Hoshi started off walking me here, but I guess I passed out."

Aramis blinked, looking rather confused and concerned. He looked at Kemekin very closely, his eyes narrowed in thought. Then he set back on his heels, glancing up at the ceiling. "Well, it's a lucky thing you can heal the way you can. If it'd been me, I'm not sure I've had the skill to heal it immediately. The presence of mind, but not the magic."
He glanced at Ellie, then back at the ceiling with a very thoughtful look.

Kemekin huffed. He wasn't going to argue-- he didn't know how it would have been if he hadn't been able to heal himself.
Kemekin remembered the odd way his bones had crunched, and that weird sensation of something grating against the back of his eyeball. He gagged.
"I honestly can't think of what would have made her do it," he said when he'd composed himself.

Aramis looked at Kemekin quickly with concern when he gagged, his dark eyes searching Keme's face carefully. He nodded slightly when he spoke, his eyes still searching Keme's face. "It does seem very out of character for her. Do you need your stuff grabbed? I know your aunt won't, wouldn't whatever, let you out until she's certain you're well. Did you leave your things in Professor Yogo's class?"

Kemekin stood, running a hand through his hair again. Who had brushed it out of his face?
"Nah, I can get my stuff. But I'm gonna wait 'till the hallways clear a bit." He caught his roommate's eye and grinned. "Thanks, though."

Aramis shrugged, "Alright. If you're sure."
His eyes narrowed in confusion as Kemekin met his eye and grinned. What was that supposed to mean? He picked up his bag and glanced back, then glanced at Ellie. "Is he ready to leave, Miss Ellie?" he asked.

Ellie looked at the two young men over the top of her laptop screen.
"He's fine to," she answered. "But Kemekin, if you feel dizzy at all--"

"--come straight back," Kemekin finished for her. "I know, I know."
This had been an odd day. First his girlfriend had tried to mutilate him, and now his roommate was being nice. Or as nice as he could probably stand being to Kemekin.
If Hoshi suddenly sprouted white rabbit ears and put on a waistcoat, then it would make more sense. Kemekin would know he had gone bonkers.

Aramis glanced at Kemekin again, then headed out of the sickbay himself. He had an unusually determined expression on his face. Normally he'd immediately get started on his homework, but today was different. Dropping his bag on his bed, and ignoring the way his books dumped all over his bed, Aramis immediately went on the hunt.
Perhaps luckily, his bow was currently being repaired.
