It was a good thing that there was a little cafe across the street from the hotel-- Jaebi was dying for something to wake him up and his Greek was pretty much limited to the names of the Aetai brothers and random heroes of legend. The menu was organized and there were pictures of nearly every dish-- either tourists had been taken into generous account, or they were just showing off their food. Which would not bother Jaebi at all-- the smells wafting from the back of the cafe had his stomach growling.
He looked around, felt a breeze ruffle his hair (no hair gel today-- he'd been too lazy to spike it and now had to constantly flick his fringe out of his eyes) and sighed. He pulled his cellphone from the pocket of his jeans (black skinnies) and sent Ariel a text first.
Do you or your dad want to come eat breakfast with me? I'm all alone and @ the cafe across the street. <JB>
Then, to Dubhiarr:
Noona~! OMG noms. Cafe across the street. Get your mermaid temptress butt down here. <JB>
Jaebi grinned and sat at one of the neat little tables out in front of the cafe to wait for responses.

Dubhiarr wrapped a towel around her hair as she stepped out of the bathroom, then blinked as her phone rang on her nighttable, playing part of a Nightwish song she'd downloaded and converted into a ringtone. She picked up the phone, seeing that she'd received a text, and eagerly read it.
Aww, Jaebi. He was so cute. 'Mermaid temptress' indeed. There was a time Dubhiarr had actually believed she was one, but those days were long past. Now she just liked to toy with the idea. Grinning, she texted him back.
Hiya Cheetara. I'd love noms. Be right over. Gotta fix my hair. We mermaid temptresses need to look our best. ;) <MnM>
After hurriedly drying her hair as much as she could (and making a mental note to ask Aritha about the possibility of a hardcore haircut), Dubhiarr quickly applied some make-up, braided her hair and hurried down to the cafe across the street.
She soon spotted Jaebi and approached his table, taking a seat next to him with a grin. "Morning, Jae."

Jaebi grinned broadly and flicked his hair out of his eyes.
"Mornin' noona. Sleep well?" Flick. He patted his stomach. "Cheetara's starving. He forgot to eat supper last night. Heh."

"Like the dead," Dubhiarr nodded. "It was great."
She grinned as Jaebi patted his stomach, showing his hunger. "Silly kitty. You shouldn't skip meals, it's not healthy. How do you manage to forget to eat?"

Jaebi shrugged. He flicked his hair. "Honestly? I have no clue." He rubbed the back of his head and chuckled. "Guess I just don't feel hungry very often. Though what with my metabolism, I should probably eat more often than normal." As related to him, in different terms, by Kemekin-- something along the lines of Your bean-pole ass needs FUEL, Jae. Go tackle a gazelle or something. Six times a day-- that's your new regimen. We'll substitute some other freshmen for the gazelles.

Ariel jumped a little as her cellphone vibrated in her pocket. Pulling it out, she grinned at the text from Jaebi. He was so sweet.
"Jae's invited us over to the cafe across the street for breakfast," she informed her father with a grin. "Shall I tell him we'll be right there?"
She gave a soft "keee!" at her father's nod, and quickly texted her boyfriend back. We'd love to join you. See you there. xxxxx <Ari>
Father and daughter made their way over to the specified cafe, finding Jaebi and Dubhiarr almost immediately. Ariel waved to the two of them, hugging Jaebi from behind and kissing his ear before sitting down in a seat beside him, while her father sat down on her other side.
"Morning!" she chirped in greeting. "How long have you guys been here?"

Zephyros woke somewhat stiff that morning, having slept on the floor as he determined at the point of there only being two beds. He showered quickly, got dressed in his usual emerald green tunic, cut-off jeans, and ancient Greek-style sandals, fixed his hair, and headed across the street.
Mostly, he was hungry and wanted out of the room. There were some vaguely familiar faces, and Du, and he waved as was appropriate despite his only mostly conscious state. Sitting at a table that wasn't right next to them, but not so far that he looked like he was avoiding the others, Zeph picked up the menu, snorted, pulled out his wallet and made a very detailed, very specific order while showing that he was willing to pay for the special treatment. The waitress nodded, blushing slightly while he flirted with her, and headed back inside.
Zeph leaned his head back and watched the sky for a moment, yawning.

Dubhiarr grinned and waved as Professor Hawk and Ariel came over to their table. "Hey, Ari. Morning, Professor. I just got here, and I think Jae's been here for a while."
She passed the two Hawks each a menu, then sat back, looking at her own. "All this stuff looks so good. Somebody help me pick something. Please."

"Yeah, I've been here for a lil' bit." Jaebi grinned and gave Ariel's hand an affectionate squeeze. "It started off as a walk, but then I realized I was hungry."
He flipped through the menu until something caught his eye-- a weird flaky pastry-looking thing that, in the picture, had been sliced open to reveal potatoes, some kind of meat, zucchini, cheese, and green stuff that might have been mint or spinach. Either way, it looked amazing.
"Ah... It looks like they've got two different versions of these." Jaebi pointed out the items-- another version of the dish had chicken and spinach instead of whatever-the-other-meat-was and potatoes. "I'll get one if you get the other--" the picture showed two on a plate-- "so we can trade."

Dubhiarr nodded, her mouth starting to water at the sight of the whatever-those-things-were-called. "Sure. That looks awesome. I'll go for the one that isn't chicken. Probably lamb."

"That does look good," Vincent commented, looking over at the picture the two were studying. "What is that, feta cheese? That will never protect us from the ducks." He caught Jaebi's eye, grinned and winked.

Jaebi managed to turn his laughter into a cough.
"Oh yes," he said in mock seriousness once he had regained his breath. "The best we can hope for is Gouda. And even then, it won't distract them for long." He nodded sagely.

Dubhiarr looked at the pair, a small smile on her lips. "So you've discovered the evils of ducks too, huh? Horrible, horrible things they are. They're minions of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, and I don't mean Voldemort."
She shuddered a bit, remembering her nightmare, then smiled again. "So what will protect us against them, if not cheese?"

"Dance," Jaebi answered, nodding again, if only to hide the twitching at the corners of his lips. "Only the Dance of the Ancients may deflect their evil."

Dubhiarr grinned. "The Dance of the Ancients? I've never even heard of that. You'll have to give us a demonstration so we know how to in case we're beset by the ducks."

Jaebi smirked. He gently pushed his chair back from the table and stood up, pulling his phone from his pocket and selecting a song from his playlist.
"Ariel, would you hold this, please?" he asked, pressing play and handing her his phone as he positioned himself where there would be more free room. As soon as the music started, so did Jaebi, dancing over the concrete with the vigor of someone who knew for certain that he would never see most of his audience again-- meaning, yes, Jaebi knew that there were throngs of strangers around, but they didn't know who he was, and he didn't know who they were, which suited him just fine.

Dubhiarr raised her eyebrows interestedly as Jaebi started to dance, then grinned as she continued to watch him. He really was quite a good dancer: lithe and graceful like the cat which was his other form. After a moment or two she got up and started to dance beside him, mimicking his movements gracefully. Self-defense against evil had never been so fun.
