Chris readjusted her headphones as she ran, her sneakers hitting the track in time with the beat of the song. She liked this band-- one the of the members sounded remarkably like her father.
Having gym as the last class of the day had its perks. For one thing, she didn't have to shower in the locker rooms and go to her next class with wet hair. For another, if she wanted to stay out on the track, she could. Granted, she was on the track today because she had gotten into a little tiff with another student while playing basketball and been prescribed to run laps as punishment, but oh well. Class had ended maybe half an hour ago, and Chris had not stopped other than to strip off her shirt, taking her laps in basketball shorts and a sports bra. She was practically gleaming with sweat by this time-- sure, she loved to run, but she didn't have the endurance for it that her father did.
The headphones blared in her ears. Chris unconsciously changed the rhythm of her steps to match the beat of the song.

Yuki sees what you did there was out walking around the outside part of the campus. He didn't really care for the out doors too much but since it was getting late it was not as warm as it had been, making his walk more bearable.
He noticed a single person running on the track . . . who would be out of their mind enough to . . . oh it was Chris. Yuki narrowed his eyes so he could focus on the girl. She was quite an excelent runner . . . though Yuki knew little to nothing about the sport.
He took his time walking closer to the track. He would've shouted but he noticed her headphones and knowing Chris, she wouldn't have been able to hear him anyway. But he did have his violin and he had a strange urge.
As he watched her run "The Flight of the Bumble Bee" kept on playing in his head for some crazy reason. So he got Aame out from it's case and began to play, more for his personal enjoyment than anything else.

Chris kept going, running straight on through the transitions between songs. In that moment where her headphones produced no noise, Chris heard a violin.
Curious, Chris's head whipped around to see the source of the playing. Oh, it was Yuki. Oh course it w--
"F--!" Chris started the curse as soon as she felt gravity betray her. The side of her sneaker scuffed the pavement, sending her falling in a twist. She landed on her back and one shoulder, her iPod flying out of her pocket and skittering across the blacktop, yanking the earbuds from her ears.
Chris curled into a ball on the pavement, more from embarrassment than pain.

"CHRIS!" Yuki shouted as soon as he saw the girl fall. It looked like she had managed to catch herself all right, but he wanted a closer look, just in case.
He carefully placed Aame down before running over to the Chris-ball on the blacktop. He kneeled down beside her and touched her arm. "Hey, you ok?" he asked in his quiet voice.
He glanced around the pavement until he saw her ipod and picked it up. "Well, good news is," he said inspecing the gadget, "it's not broken so you don't have to kill me."

Chris pushed herself into a sitting position when Yuki went to pick up her iPod, managing to smirk through her grimace. She touched the back of her shoulder gingerly, and immediately hissed-- the skin felt rough and stung as she touched it. She must have scraped herself up pretty decently.
"Ow," she whispered to herself, before saying to Yuki, "Bah. the iPod's probably more durable than I am. 'S got one of those film cover-things on it." She pushed her hair back from her face-- the humidity and her sweat were turning the waves into curls-- and grunted as she hefted herself to her feet.

"Hold on!" Yuki scolded rushing over to her, "Let me help you." He glanced at her shoulder where she had landed. "Wow, you hurt yourself pretty bad there," Yuki quickly glanced over it, having a mother healer helped a little, "I'm no specialist, but I think you'll live. I'll help you to the Sick Bay if you like."

Chris flinched. She bit her lip and, determined not to let her eyes water like they wanted to, looked around. "Where did I put my shirt?" she asked, in a way that implied both agreement and a don't you dare mention this to anyone.

"Relax, Chris," Yuki said soothingly, "I'll take care of you." He smiled at her and jogged off to where he noticed a balled up clump of fabric. Yep, it looked to be Chris' size. He returned to her and held it up. "Is this it?" he asked.

Chris nodded and took the shirt. She pulled it over her head and started to work her arm through the sleeve when the fabric dragged across her scuffed skin. Chris froze, made a short whimpering noise, and promptly removed the shirt again, opting to hold it against her stomach. She could at least pretend to be properly clothed on their way to Dr. Stryker's.
But dammit, the abrasions stung. Try as she might, Chris couldn't keep her eyes from watering.

"Here," Yuki said as he quickly unbuttoned his shirt and placed the light fabric (blue of course) over her shoulders, careful not to touch the scrape, "this should be light enough to where it won't hurt." Yuki didn't mind being left in his black tanktop-undershirt. He just didn't want Chris to feel uncomfortable.
"Come on," he said taking her hand, "let's go."

------------------------------------------------------------ Yuki ran all the way to the track and only stopped when he reached his violin. He sighed, glad nothing had happened to it. "Thank God," he said breathlessly.

Chris made it to the track almost immediately after, tugging down the hem of her t-shirt, Yuki's button-up fluttering from her arm as she ran.
"Hey, you bolted." She quite literally skidded to a halt at his side, and glanced at the violin. "Doesn't look like anything happened," she commented, patting him on the shoulder and handing him his shirt.
She smiled. "And thanks."

Yuki looked at her and took his shirt. "Oh, sorry. . . I-I didn't mean to," he said breathlessly, "I just can't lose this." Yuki bowed his head in embarassment. "It's stupid . . . sorry."
He flug his shirt into the violin case and picked up Aame. "It wasn't any trouble," he said to her last comment, "I was happy to do it."

Chris made an aww face. Yuki was so attached to his instruments. She remembered him saying that his mother had given the violin to him.
Such a sweet boy.
Chris arched an eyebrow. "But," she said, jokingly, "If you tell anyone that I fell, I will vehemently deny it. And if you tell anyone I almost cried," here, she smirked, "I. Will. Find. You."

Yuki noticed her attempt to be threatening and smirked back. "That shouldn't be too hard," he said with a shrug, "you know where my dorm and the band room are."
He brought Aame to his shoulder and began to play a threatening, haunting tune. "I think this should be plaied at my funeral after you finde me," he said with a smile on the corners of his lips.

Chris crossed her arms and cocked her hips to one side. "I was thinking something more along the lines of the Castlevania theme. But that works. And we'll put you in a blue coffin, but the lining will be strawberry-pink. And no one's going to leave flower arrangements-- they're going to leave milkshakes and those Edible Arrangement bouquets."

Yuki laughed to the point where he had to put down Aame for fear of breaking his beloved violin on accident. "That's it," Yuki said inbetween laughs, "if you don't arrange my funeral, I won't be pleased!"
He took a deep breath to try to calm his self and hiccuped. His face went blank with a hint of "really? REALLY??!" He narrowed his eyes and held his breath, his chest spazmed and then the released the air.
Yuki waited for a few seconds and "Hicc!!"

Chris brought her fists up to her mouth and grinned, her eyes crinkling at the corners as she watched Yuki.
Why yes, this was the reaction she had been waiting for.
His hiccups only made it funnier. Chris bit her knuckles and giggled, though she caught herself and changed this to more of a chuckle.

Yuki bent over trying to regain control of his breathing. "I've-hic never laugh-hic-ed so hard hic before," he explained. He held his sides in pain a smile still on his face. "How do you hic get rid of these?" Yuki asked in minor pain.

Chris smirked. "Hold your breath," she advised. "If that doesn't work, you can always try screaming. That's how I get rid of them."

Yuki did his best to hold his breath. His chest convulsing every once in a while. Finally he released the air out of his lungs. . . "I- I think it's gone," he said glancing around as if he expected a hiccup sprite to spam him out of effing no where and bash him over the head.

Chris snickered and tucked her hair behind her ears. "Well, that's good," she chirruped. "We wouldn't want people thinking you were capable of laughter, would we?"
She was going to have to shower before dinner, she mused. The sweat was settling to her skin and she was feeling progressively more gross.
She took a courtesy step away from Yuki and chuckled sheepishly. "I should, ah... Yeah. I've been out here for a while. I probably smell like the locker rooms." Another step. "I'm gonna go hit the showers."

Yuki chuckled and put Aame back in it's case. He carefully took the case and held it at his side. "Do you want me to walk you to your dorm?," Yuki bit his lip and looked off towards the track, "or would that be too wierd?" He honestly didn't know, he didn't want to be a creeper, but he did want to make sure she made it to her dorm ok. . . And without falling.

Chris flapped one hand in the air like she was waving the question away.
"Nah, I'll be fine. I promise not to fall down any stairs or whatever." She chuckled. "Like Dr. Stryker said, I'm usually one of the more graceful of the Academy minions. But trying to look behind you while running on a curve is never a good idea."

Yuki watched her leave before turning and heading his own seperate way. Hopefully next time they met there would be a certain LACK of injury emotionally and physically on both their parts.
