Player's Name: Ireth
Name: Mortimer “Mort” House
Age: 19
Grade: university freshman
Birthday: May 1
Height: 5' 9”
Weight: athletic
Gender: male
Appearance: he is fairly well-built, with fair skin, long, straight black hair that comes to just past his shoulders, and grey eyes. He dresses casually most of the time, in jeans and whatever shirts he feels like wearing. Very rarely is he seen to have any expression other than indifference; when this happens he is usually either angry or sad. Not a cheerful person, overall.
Personality: Mort is quite distant, personality-wise, and slow to make friends, as he has serious trust issues, especially with people who have authority over him. It doesn't help that he thinks little of betraying others if he reaps some benefit from it. He has a severe phobia of deep water, stemming from an incident in his childhood that his mother never speaks of (see History). He harbors a great deal of shame for his illegitimate birth, and resentment toward both of his parents; he gets VERY offended if someone mentions the word “bastard” in front of him. He is quite a bit of a control freak, having been manipulated by his mother and aunt for his whole life; he longs to have control of himself and his life most of all, and does his best to control others to make himself feel empowered.
History: Mort was conceived in Morgan House by her half-brother Arthur Kendrick, after the siblings met at a bar and had several too many drinks. Neither of them recognized the other until after the deed was done. After Mort was born, and after many failed attempts to persuade Morgan to get an abortion, Arthur tried to drown Mort in a lake out of shame for his incest. Morgan rescued Mort and raised him herself, with help from her older sister Moira.
Mort knows little of his father, only that he is Morgan's half-brother. Morgan speaks of Arthur only to remind Mort of what a horrible person his father is, and how he betrayed his wife in having sex with his own half-sibling. Mort knows that his mother is every bit as much to blame for that as Arthur is, and he resents her deeply for it, though he also knows deep down that she is just as capable of abandoning him -- and worse -- as his father is, and doesn't dare to speak against her or his aunt Moira. He resists her manipulations as much as he can, and tries to have some control over his life, but as long as he lives under her roof he probably won't be very successful. He's desperate to get out on his own and far away from his guardians.
In his free time, Mort gleans some pleasure from working out and practising swordplay, both of which he uses to give himself feelings of power and control over himself, something he deeply craves. These are among the very few things he actually enjoys.
For Mortals
Non-Magical Strengths: he is fairly good with a sword, due to years of practise, and quite strong, since he enjoys working out. His own body is one of the few things he has control over, and he does his best not to let anyone take that from him. Also he's quite good at manipulating people to get what he wants, often in nasty ways. He isn't above blackmail or things like that.
Minor Powers: none known. (I might add some if I can think of any.)
