Korlian laughed as well, "Indeed, how odd. They see what they want, they hear what they expect... it makes it so easy to fool their minds."
He watched his brother throw the boy to the floor, narrowing his eyes. What, did Lhachlhass plan on vivisecting the boy? Interesting, but not for long. A heart only beat for so long once it was exposed to open air and no other blood entered the system. His eyes widened as Lhachlhass pulled out one of his bolts. Oh boy, one of those... A grin grew across his face and he stopped his brother's arm.
"Wait, Chlhass... I have an even better idea..." Grey eyes flickered toward the terrified boy pinned by his brother's foot. "Let's play with it. It's a pretty toy... seems a shame to throw it away. Let's go hunting. We have the perfect prey right here... and it's been such a long time since we had a proper hunt," he wheedled. He wanted to play with the boy. Really play with it, not just watch it die and poke at it maybe. That was boring. But hunting... hunting a thinking creature that knew it was being hunted and probably wouldn't survive... that was much more fun. Desperation made a thinking being fun.
Though he'd faced that desperation himself, so... Korlian shrugged, putting it from his mind. Jonathan would be far more fun alive and thinking he had a chance. "We could even make it game. Give him a chance to survive. The Fae always keep their word..."
He laughed, moving to stand on the other side of his brother than the bolt. He'd made the mistake of touching one once... it had knocked him out for an hour. One of the few times he'd ever seen Lhachlhass truly concerned for him. He leaned over the boy, smirking. "Maybe he'll actually survive."
