Elan was not one to visit the library unless absolutely necessary. Of course, absolutely necessary was not a rare occasion for the werewolf, as he considered boredom to be a catastrophe. At the moment, he was browsing the shelves nearer the entrance. Or rather, had been browsing. The young man stood with one arm crossed over his stomach, the elbow of the other arm braced against it, holding a book flat in one of his tanned hands.
The pages of James Joyce's Finnegan's Wake stared up at him. Elan's mouth silently formed a word here and there, as his eyebrows rose slowly higher with each each sentence. This book, he decided, was a cruel device of torture that had been placed in the Dunehelden library solely for the purpose of trapping the poor innocent souls of students within its pages.
"This is a foul, foul creature I hold before me," Elan announced to no one in particular, placing the book back on the shelf.

Evanthra was no stranger to the library by any stretch of the imagination. To say that she practically lived there was more accurate. So it wasn't odd for her to be situated at a table with a few books in front of her. Evan didn't have many friends, since she never really found a need in them.
Books in a way, were her friends. They helped her study, learn, and explore other people's imaginations. Her favorite books were of fantasy, and she was often spotted reading books with wild fairy tales. Today was no different.
She was stretched out, in a lazy manner across two chairs at a table. Her hair was wavy and messy as usual. Her teal eyes scanned over the passages, lips remaining unmoving. She didn't even notice the presence of Elan not too far away. She was too interested in her book to notice him.

Elan scanned the shelves for a while longer, his mind set on finding one book in particular. Unfortunately, several minutes of searching gave no results in the Jack McDevitt category. The library's lack of science fiction saddened him sometimes.
But, no bother. Maybe he could just read one of his old favorites again. Surely not all of the Dietz books had been checked out...
From the corner of his eye he spied a young woman-- blond, quite pretty-- seated at a table with a few books. One of the spines caught his eye. It was a gradient orange, much like the cover of Dietz's Runner would be. No harm in asking. He traveled smoothly over to the table and leaned on hand against the edge, drumming his fingers to get the girl's attention.
"Excuse me," he began, "can I take a look at these books for just a second?"

Evanthra was so deeply into the book she was reading she didn't even notice Elan's presence until he spoke up. Her body jumped a bit, and she quickly looked at him and squeaked slightly. "Uh....yeah sure."
She gave the pile of books at her table, a small push towards him, shifting uncomfortably for a moment. She wasn't used to getting snuck up on. He probably was a vampire or werewolf. Those things were like, ninja's. To the point of almost being annoying.
She gave him a quick glance before returning to her book shyly.

Elan offered her a handsome smile and a nod of thanks, shifting quickly through the stack of books. Yes, this book had the same cover scheme as Runner. No, it was not Runner. Curses.
His eyes found their way to the young woman again. He had seen her before. Always in the library. "Do you recommend any of these books?" He picked up one of the thicker paperback texts and examined the back cover. "I've exhausted my list of preferred reads... New material, that's what I need."

Evanthra's teal eyes slowly moved back to the man once he returned to talking. She thought for a moment, lips pursing. She smiled a bit and nodded. "Library doesn't have much, I know. At least not for Sci fi. Have you ever read any of the Dragonlance Books? Those are good. Though anything based on Dungeons and Dragons is usually a good read."
She smiled a bit and tilted her head up to look at him. "Other then that, I usually try to delve into Historical fiction, which admittedly is a guilty pleasure of mine. I love, The birth of Venus. It takes place in Florence during the renaissance."
