Adler stepped into the infirmary and, keeping one hand on the rising lump at the side of his skull. He felt silly, really. A box of calculators falling on one's head was hardly an injury to be bragged about. But his ears were ringing and his balance was off-- so in the interest of his own well-being he had made his way to the sick bay.

Ellie heard the young man come in and had already gotten up to meet him at the door when he entered. She gave him a quick inspective once-over and immediately led him to a cot, onto which she bade him sit.
"Hold still," she ordered, moving his hand gingerly away from his skull. She went right to work-- mending broken blood vessels, easing pain and dizziness, reducing swelling. "What happened?" she asked, as she put the finishing touched on the heal. The process had taken a few minutes at most.

"Box," Adler said dully. "Heavy box. Full of calculators." He blinked a few times. His vision had cleared and the throbbing in his head was steadily subsiding. "Oh! Wow, that's nice."
He quieted then, watching the woman for a moment. She seemed a little on the frail side, but he expression she wore as she worked defied that impression. He wasn't going to say anything else until her eyes caught his and he was struck by their color.
"Doctor Evans-Barros?"

"You can call me Ellie, dear," Ellie corrected automatically. She smiled, her work done, and took a few steps back from the young man. She held up her index finger and had him follow it with his eyes. No loss of focus, no lag. Good.
"You're all set, hun. If you fell dizzy at all come back to see me."

Adler nodded. He started to speak, rethought his statement, and tried again.
"Ah... Do you have a relative in the school, Miss Ellie? A young man?"

Ellie blinked. "Yes. Do you know Kemekin? He's my nephew."

Adler half-grinned. "Ja. He's in one of my classes." Then he added in explanation, "I'm the mathematics TA, you see. He's in my second-period class. He's got... ah..." Adler bit back a chuckle. "An odd way of going about things."

Aramis came in with his hands in his pockets, stifling a yawn. He'd accidentally fallen asleep in his last class, though luckily it wasn't a class he needed to work at. Hearing the comment about Kemekin, he snorted. "That's a nice way to put it. Sorry I'm late, Miss Ellie. Apparently it was more interesting for everyone to watch me sleep than warn me that class was over."

Adler smirked at the young man's entrance. "Hello Aramis."
Oh, that was right. Aramis and Kemekin were roommates. Adler had forgotten about that.

Ellie chuckled. "It's fine, Aramis," she said. She wasn't going to fault the lad for being a few minutes late to a tutoring session.
The doctor had come to really enjoy teaching the two boys-- Aramis and Kemekin. Their abilities and magics were so different that it had become as much a learning experience for her as for her charges.
Ellie's gaze slid back to the young man she had just healed. She had not seen him around the school much-- a glance here and there, at most. But up close he had some features that were so familiar to her that it was a little unnerving. She made a mental note to ask him if he had any relatives that were students, later on.

Aramis looked at Adler almost blankly, then blinked when he realized where he knew him and nodded slightly. Then he paused and looked very closely at him, all without a word. He picked up on the man's similarities to someone he saw fairly often, but kept his mouth shut.
He rubbed at his shoulder slightly, then forced himself to stop. That was a very bad habit to be forming... he'd already nearly rubbed it raw last time he'd gotten really nervous. Holding his hands behind his back, he looked anxiously at Ellie. He didn't want to talk Adler anymore... he really didn't have anything to say, and he could only speak with Ellie now that he'd had time to get to know her.

Adler coughed-- more to fill the sudden awkward silence than anything else.
"Yes. So, um, Miss Ellie? I was going to say that Kemekin's been improving lately. If not in process, then in product. He says he has a tutor. Might you know who it is? I'd like to speak with them-- obviously their methods are working far better for the boy than mine are."

Ellie arched an eyebrow and shook her head. "No, I don't know. He never mentioned needing help. The last thing he asked for help with was getting an appointment with an optometrist."

Aramis blinked and looked closely at Adler again. Yes, that's what he'd thought she looked like. He looked at Miss Ellie and narrowed his eyes. It seemed a little odd to him that this guy was looking so hard for someone connected to Kemekin. Especially someone who looked somewhat like who they seemed to be looking for.
Like Nina. Aramis didn't know too much about her history, but if she hadn't mentioned this guy, then either she didn't know about him or she didn't want to run into him again. Either way, it wasn't Aramis who was going to betray her. At least until he knew more about what was going on.
Though it was a little odd that he hadn't made the connection before. ...Until Aramis remembered his tendency to avoid looking at faces with the strong desire to facepalm. Of COURSE he hadn't really looked before. Glancing between the two, he just stepped back quietly. If Miss Ellie wanted to mention it, then that was her choice. Aramis personally would speak with Nina about it first, though...

Adler nodded, mildly disappointed but understanding. "Alright." he brought his hand unconsciously to the freshly healed side of his head. "Oh, and thank you for fixing this." He smiled. He took his exit then, giving Aramis a pat on the shoulder as he passed him. Out in the hallway, he paused and ran a hand through his hair.
He knew his half-sibling was in attendance here. He had spent the better half of a year narrowing that down. But he had checked the student records and there was no mention of another attendee, aside from himself, with the surname of Lundgren.
Then again, the members of the Lundgren circus troupe with whom he had spoken had mentioned losing her in China. She might have been adopted. Might have a new family name. But he had thought of that too-- no student with a chinese surname matched the description Adler had of her. Which, granted, was not much to go on. Small and blond.
Adler sighed and returned to his classroom.
