Yuki smiled as he watched the girl walk down the hallway. When she was finally out of sight he went back into his dorm and closed the door. He felt strangely . . . "released" was the only word that came to his mind that sounded slightly fitting.
He went over to his window and looked outside. Today promised to be a very good day, and with a beginning such as this one Yuki could not see a reason for it to be otherwise.

-------------------------------------------
Yuki unlocked the door and opened it for Chris to enter. He glanced inside, he didn't think to wonder if his room mate was about or if he had left anything out in the open that shouldn't have been. He sighed, gratefull that both of the above were not needed to be worried about. Yuki had actually picked up most of the books off the floor and they were now on a small bookshelf by the foot of his bed.
"Go on in," he said to Chris, "you really need to sit down."

Chris slipped into the room and took a seat on the bed, hugging her knees to her chest and crossing her legs at the ankles. She looked around the room before smiling up at Yuki. He still had her backpack with her meager notes and that devilish textbook that she would be getting some of her information from. That and the internet. But not wikipedia. But it was common knowledge that one of the prerequisites for teaching was a deep-seated phobia of wiki-fucking-pedia.
Wow, she thought to herself, I need a nap. Or a time-out. Or ice. She rubbed her head again. The lump's swelling had gone down a bit. It no longer hurt to merely touch it.

Yuki followed her into the room and sat her backpack down carefully at her feet. "Umm, do you need me to get you anything?" he asked. He really was inept when it came to injury. Yuki being the nerdy, not very active (out side of dancing that is) type was not prone to injury, so his knowledge in this area was quite lacking.
He walked over to his acoustic violin case and opened it. He had mostly been using his electric violin recently. Aame could probably use a good tuneing.

Chris blinked owlishly as she watched the boy.
"Nah, I'm fine. I've got a water bottle in my bag. Thanks, though." She bent to pull her bag onto the bed, rifling through it to find the bottle.
As she took a swig, she caught Yuki's movement out of the corner of her eye. He was pulling out the accoutsic. What had he named it? Ame? Ayame?

"You don't mind if I tune her, do you?" Yuki asked. He didn't want to appear rude. He was a master at multitasking but people (or so he had observed) often found it dissapproving when a person didn't devote entirely to a conversation.
"Do you actually want me to help you study?" he added, placing the green stained violin on his shoulder.

Chris shrugged. "It's perfectly fine," she told him, her eyes on his wrists. He had pretty wrists.
"I'll see what I can do on my own," she said, grimacing at her notes. "If I need help I'll send up the distress signal." Then she grinned at him.

He began to run his bow lightly over the strings. Good, she wasn't terribly out of tune. He only needed to tweak a few strings and it was perfect. He absent mindedly began to play scales quietly.
He smiled down at her. "And what youd that distress signal be?" he asked.

Chris ran both of her hands through her hair, tangling her fingers through the curls as she stared down at the textbook now laying open across her knees. A section on the Edict of Nantes glared back at her.
"Um..." She gently unclenched her hands from her hair, slowly becoming aware of how much that had hurt. "I'll... think of something. You'll know when I'm about to enact Holy Retribution upon my textbook."

Yuki laughed. "Do you do that to all your text books?" Yuki asked, "Or is your history book the only one evil enough to get that privilege?"
He slowly began to vary from the scales he had been playing to a lullaby that he had composed with is mothers in mind. It was a soothing melody that was similar to the wind blowing through the branches of a tree in autumn.
