You are in a teahouse. It seems to be on a lofty mountain; it's perpetually well-stocked, but there seems to be no one there and no signs of life outside of our fair visitors. You may have come in through the door, a window, fallen in from above, or simply woken up there, who knows; you probably weren't expecting to be here, anyway.

Aravilui fell against the door and forced it open, then shut it behind him and leaned against against it for a moment, shaking snow off of his hood. Letting it fall, he looked around the room curiously. What an odd place...
He knew one thing. It was going to be a while before he managed to get to Imladris, but since there probably wasn't anything to fight around here, it would probably still count as a rest. Besides, he still fully intended to spend a full month in Imladris... just as soon as he figured out how to get there. Until then... Oooh, fire... He fully intended to get thawed out.

A short man with white dreadlocks peeked his head out from behind the counter and watched the newcomer.

He moved forward slowly, pulling off the damp cloak and draping it over his arm. A quiver of arrows stuck out over his shoulder, the bow beautifully polished and lightly decorated. At his hip was a pair of lovely long fighting knives, both obviously very well mantained. His clothes were wool, dyed green and brown and spun carefully to make them soft. He sat in a chair and kicked off his boots, stretching carefully and wincing a little. The heat felt lovely.
Looking at the man, he raised a brow. Well, that was an interesting Man. White hair with a young face. Aravilui didn't think he'd ever seen a human like that. Brushing his hair out of his face, he gave the other a friendly smile. Words still came slowly, but at least he could try to be friendly without his friend jabbing him in the ribs. "Hello..."

The young man stood fully, smiling brightly. "Hello. Is this place yours? It's nice and warm in here."

Aravilui laughed softly, "No, it is no more mine than yours. It is warm, though. Though the way you are acting leads me to believe you have no more idea of where we are than I do."
Brushing his hair out of his face again, he stood and walked over, offering the man a hand. "My name is Aravilui."

He walked over and shook Aravilui's hand. "Alex. Alex Meriweather. Nice to meet you. Unfortunate... I had business to attend to earlier, I didn't expect to run into some sort of magical warp."
He was dressed in a very simple, expensive-looking white suit with a green tie, vaguely futuristic-looking but still conservative.

Aravilui shook his hand easily but firmly. "Magical warp... I was traveling to see a friend, I do not recall running into anything odd... until this building. Which I guess makes this a normal trip. Although most people would think it was odd I was going to visit this person anyway, but..." he gave a one-armed shrug and pulled his quiver off, setting it by his boots and adding his knives to the pile quickly. The man's attire was as odd as his appearance. But then, Aravilui's own clothing was probably just as odd to the other. A green tunic, brown leggings, he'd been wearing boots that reached half way up his calf, and the various weapons had to say something about his job. He glanced at his pants and sighed. Yellow stain... He'd thought he'd gotten all of the spider blood out. Apparently not.

Something crashed, and broke, and Frog wasn't entirely sure how he got on the floor or why his head hurt, but there was a good chance it had something to do with the three identical spinning holes in the three identical spinning ceilings.
He sat up and rubbed his head. "Ow..." he muttered. He'd just been minding his own business, asleep in his room, too. Still in his pajamas, for that matter. And freezing.
Frog hopped over to the fire, crouching beside the two men. "Hello!" he announced brightly. "I'm Leaping Frog. Can you tell me where I am?"

Alex zipped, quick as lightning, onto a table across the room. After a second, he blinked in confusion and got off the table, brushing his suit off.
"No," he said simply.

Aravilui looked over in surprise, a hand straying instinctively to a knife. His eyes traveled to the hole, then focused on the one who called himself "Leaping Frog." That... had to be an odd name. At least the other's, Alex, had seemed like a name a human might use even if an Elf would not.
His hand moved slowly away from the hilt at his hip. Thus far the only dangerous thing he seemed to have done was more far too quickly for Aravilui's comfort. Not a crime, but a dangerous thing nonetheless. He settled himself into his chair again, keeping a very close eye on this ...Leaping Frog. Alex's answer sufficed for him. No, not a clue as to where he was. Don't look through the windows, something odd might be out there. An old memory rose up and he shuddered as if cold.

Frog glanced back and forth between the other two men. Not very chatty. Oh well. "Well, in that case, I'm going to find something to eat."
Frog hopped over the counter in one smooth motion, poking around and shuffling through things. Junk. Junk. Gross -- Ooh.
Frog returned moments later with a bag of marshmallows and a two liter of soda, making himself comfortable by the fire. "There's all kinds of food back there. There was coffee, too, but I didn't see anything to make it with." Frog crammed a marshmallow in his mouth.

Alex's eyes widened for a moment, and then he walked over between Frog and the counter. "Marshmallows? Marshmallows and coffee?"
He grinned. "Can we make mocha-s'mores?"

Frog's eyes widened. "You can do that?" he replied with astonishment. "Um, let's see... There was coffee, and I'm sure we could find chocolate if we looked... Don't know about crackers, but if not I'm sure we could find something."
He looked back over at Aravilui. "Are you hungry? There's plenty here." Frog smiled sweetly.

Aravilui was looking with fascination at the odd bag that crackled so strangely, and the strange puffy things that the one called Leaping Frog was eating with evident enjoyment. He blinked when he was addressed and tilted his head to the side. "That is food? It is so strange..."
Standing, he padded barefoot across the floor to the counter, then moved around it and looked through the food. Most of it was labeled, almost all of it things he'd never seen. He kept searching through the many shelves. Strange cans, strange bottles... What on Arda was 'Coca Cola'? And chocolate? Out of curiosity he took a nibble of one and smiled a little. Oh, that was good. Pity it didn't exist in his world. He kept looking, trying to find something familiar. Finally he made a soft noise of triumph and pulled out a wafer of lembas. Finding some fresh fruit he recognized, he nibbled on that as well. He wasn't especially hungry, but he was leery of trying too much new too fast. Especially if something was really good and then he'd never have it again.
Or worse, if it turned out to be addictive and he got addicted to it and couldn't get it at home. But curiosity had always been one of his weaknesses, and the 'coffee' was interesting. Taking a bag, he opened it and sniffed at the black grounds inside. It smelled bitter, but still... interesting. "What is this? How do you make it?"
He looked around at the other two curiously, still holding the bag of coffee. "And if there is not what you think is needed, are there other ways to make it?"

Alex raised an eyebrow. "You know, it occurs to me that I have no idea. I usually just make Hitoshi feed me, or go out to a restaurant or something."
"There's probably a machine to make it someplace, though. S'mores, uhm. I'm used to them coming in little packages and then you stick the marshmallow on the end of a stick and then when it's sticky, you press it between the chocolate crackers." He tilted his head and looked back towards Aravilui. "...So, we'd need chocolate mocha crackers. Are there any?"

Aravilui chuckled slightly, looking around rapidly. "I do not see anything labeled that... I might be wrong, though."
He looked over the bag in his hands carefully, finding directions with pictures. How accomadating. He found a machine that matched the one in the picture, then examined the odd machine. There was a weird cord and apparently it needed water and a piece of paper it called a filter and... what was this weird cord? He looked at the end of it, feeling the metal tongs. "How do I use this? This has to go somewhere, doesn't it?"

Post by Hitoshi Gilespi on Jan 15, 2010 3:18:28 GMT -5
Hitoshi brushed dirt and bits of asbestos from his school uniform, emerging from the back room. He wasn't entirely sure how he got here -- whatever he had walked into was very clearly not his fifth period class.
"You plug it into the socket," Hitoshi replied caustically, his eyes flickering to the man whom he at first was certain must have been Carmen's friend--D'Artagnan or Athos or some ridiculous thing that no right-minded parent would ever name their child.
His clothes were wrong, however, and more noticeably, he looked significantly older. Not to mention Hitoshi had stumbled here through god knows what means.
The youngest one was very easily recognizable; he looked nearly the same, apart from the shimmering silver patterns on his arms and legs. And the fact that he was shoving sweets down his throat.
The last one was rather evidently Alex, though not Alex as he knew him. He was older -- significantly, in fact. Probably at least a handful of years older than Hitoshi. He didn't feel the same, either -- whatever sort of attachment he had to Alex, it was much weaker here, a shadow of what he felt normally. This was almost certainly not his Alex.
Hitoshi hesitated, lingering by the door. He was not quite certain what to make of this, but there didn't seem to be any way back. And he would have been lying to say that he wasn't interested.

Alex blinked, grinned widely, and immediately dashed over behind Hitoshi to squeeze him tightly.
"Mine," he said happily, nuzzling the boy. He smelled a bit strange, but still like Hitoshi. "Hello. Do you know where we are?"

...Well, that answered a few questions at least. And raised several more. Whatever Hitoshi was to this Alex, he apparently at least didn't look particularly different.
Hitoshi's face burned scarlet. "Um. Hi."
He wasn't entirely certain whether the fact that he was being tackled by someone who was essentially a stranger was made better or worse by the fact that said stranger seemed to be a somewhat older, very peculiar version of his boyfriend.

"Hi?" He replied with some confusion, nudging the blush spreading over Hitoshi's cheek.
Alex pulled back and stood beside the other boy, one hand on his back. "Why the reaction? Is this your fault? Playing with a new spell?" He tilted his head. "Why do you have schoolbooks and funny clothes?"

"My fault...?" Hitoshi frowned. "I'm fairly certain it's not." The Alex he knew wasn't quite this oblivious, and Hitoshi wasn't sure how to convey that he probably wasn't the person Alex seemed to think he was.
"I think there's--" he paused. "I was at school, and I walked through a door. I ended up in the back room. Quite frankly I'm not entirely convinced this isn't just a strange dream."

"But..." Alex would have twitched an ear, had his ears twitched. "I was in the hotel room in Japan, you had stepped out, I went to find a terminal... and now you're a teenager. That is much stranger than any sort of random space-warp cabin."
"Wait." He brushed Hitoshi's hair back. "You're also human?"

Frog tilted his head slightly, only half watching the exchange.
Hm. Coffee pot. Frog did his best to help Aramis brew the coffee from what little he remember of watching Angel do it, dumping the coffee grounds into the filter.
"Here." Frog offered the bag of marshmallows to Aramis. "You can have some--Oh!" Frog dived under the counter. "I found chocolate syrup!"
